Should I fear a garage queen?

Unless you are a flipper, the decision to buy a 993 is emotional, not logical.
The major problem with a low mileage daily driver is that you'll have guilt pangs every time the odometer turns another mile. I'd opt for one with about 80k well maintained miles. Mine had 98k when I bought it six years ago.

Would be great to see more low mile cars used as they were designed!

re: low mileage
Jon, be aware that the plastic odometer gear does break, rather frequently, spontaneously, and w/o any sound or warning. Mine did recently after 46k total miles. I had it repaired right away, but realized how easy to leave alone, or leave the speedometer/odometer gauge disconnected- and get "free rides"...
Be aware, have whoever does your PPI correlate any findings with stated mileage.

Heck, a nicely optioned 991.2 GTS will be over $130,000 in a blink of an eye. You can easliy be in the $150,000 territory. Buy a low mileage 993 garage queen, and save about $40,000. You'll have a great car! So what it it takes another $20,000 to "sort out". You'll still be ahead. This may come in handy when you are explaining to the wife.

I bought this car.
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...rrera-2-a.html
45500 miles may not be garage queen but very low miles. It's near new condition inside and out. It passed CA smog with no issues. First owner had SAI cleanout so hopefully that will not be an issue anytime soon but who knows.
I was looking for something 75-100k miles but the right car and right owner can change plans.
I'd say go for it if it's the car you want.

If the car has been parked for a while, you may be in for some expensive surprises. Are there service records that indicate it has not been sitting for a while? If not, the PPI might check out fine; but, once you start driving it regularly you could find that a lot of oil leaks spring up. Repairing the leaks might require replacement of the thru bolt seals for the engine case, which is fairly expensive.

Funny, I have been eyeing this car for months and months. Pricing did drop about ten grand recently. It also had a cousin that sat for a while, but alas it's gone now. I believe it was a 1996 or '97, silver with a few more kms, but still very low, and an ask about ten grand more.
Among the reasons I haven't pulled the trigger are some of the same questions you're asking...in addition to bringing it into the US. (Not a huge deal, but then I have a CND spec car here, which may be slightly more difficult to sell if that day ever arrived.)
Glad you asked the question.
Am also considering a 981 Spyder for the same reasons as another poster here mentioned. (Am also looking at Onami's car, which looks amazing.)
If I were in your shoes (er, snowshoes), I would probably buy the PCO one.
Enjoy!

lol...that's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw new tires. I'm a firm believer in always looking for "indicators" as to how the owner approaches the needs of the car...or anything else I'm looking to buy for that matter. I guess that's the idea behind the philosophy of "buy the owner, not the car".
