Default RS Windshield Washer Bottle Conversion

Has anyone here ever done this to their car, i.e., converted the stock windshield/headlight washer bottle system to the smaller RS windshield washer bottle? If so, what is involved and how difficult is it?

I have done this, and it is relatively straightforward.

The smaller washer bottle mounts to bracket already in the trunk on the passenger side, and the fluid line is extended to the windshield washer nozzles. The fluid pump can be transferred over from the old tank.

We did the additional work to remove the headlight washer nozzles, which are no longer supplied with fluid, and if my memory is correct we had to remove the drivers side fender to remove the existing washer fluid tank, pump, and lines.

Yes, very much.

The stock tank holds 7 liters, and the RS maybe 2.

I was all over this, until the part about "remove fender" to get to tank. I'll wait till something else I wanna do, which requires removal of fender. 😳

If this is for weight savings, why not just put 2 liters in the stock tank?

Way smaller. Here's a pic from my old 964 showing tank, line, and pump.

The fender doesn't need to come off.
The stock tank sits behind the left headlight and is held in by 3 bolts, the 2 front places can be seen here, the rear is similarly accessible, as is the plumbing

This is mine

I did this on my 964, basically the same. See the link in my sig.

Bill is, of course, correct.

We had the fenders off the car for other work, and I have a very unreliable memory.

Bill- how is the RS reservoir mounted? Is there a bolt through the center like the 964?

This is something that would interest me however I have a few questions if anyone has the answers to them:

1) What is the part number to the actual RS tank?
2) Are there any additional parts needed for this conversion (ie: Lines, Connectors, etc?)
3) Are there any plugs available to fill in the holes after the headlight nozzles have been removed?

Carnewal sells the whole kit: http://www.carnewal.com/products/P93...r-Retrofit-Kit

There was a vendor here who sold headlight washer caps but I personally am not a fan of that look. The proper way to do it is by filling in the hole and painting it.
