these are strong, well built, engines designed to be abused. As long as you didn't thrash it i.e WOT pulls to red line, I think you'll be OK.

The oil is it's lifeblood though, so you need to resolve this asap.
let us know how it turns out and...

You may be over-filled. Check oil level at idle, engine hot, and on level ground. I would drain that out asap.

For future reference:
Do not add additives.
You only drain oil from 1) oil tank and 2) 15mm crankcase bolt

Don't worry it is unlikely you damaged the engine. Just make sure the pressure relief valve has all its parts and fill the car with the proper synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 or other. I once ran over some debris on the highway on my 86' Carrera and punctured one of the oil cooler hoses. Pumped all the oil out of the engine in seconds. Oil light came on. I was still able to drive the car the short distance home. Had the leak patched up and went on to drive the car 120K miles and sold it in perfect running order.

Wow!

You were able to drive home with all the oil out of the engine? Gives new meaning to the word tough!

Hello Folks,

Thank God matters are now resolved. Oil in the engine seemed to be quite old, which has left over residue and debris after oil was changed. This debris remained in the system, and has limited the oil pumps functionality causing low pressure readings. Also, I would like to add that some part of the relief valve was missing (see pic).

The engine will be flushed twice, and 15W50 Liqui Moly (molygen) will be added. I believe this is non-synthetic. any

I love this forum, your input was key in diagnosing the problem, and rectifying the situation.

I will be taking a sleeping pill tonight :-)

yeah, missing the piston from the relief valve will certainly cause a problem.

The problem was entirely the result of them draining the crankcase through the oil pressure relief valve and not installing it properly (i.e. with a missing part). Old oil and debris had absolutely NOTHING to do with it. You can grind up a camshaft and mix it with 75w90 transmission fluid and pour it into the system, the engine oil pump will still generate pressure at idle. Make sure the original service center reimburses you for the second oil change.

Hi Jason,

I think you are right. The root cause of this is the oil pressure relief only.
Anyway, will be filling the car with non-synthetic 15W50 Liqui Moly oil as there's no synthetic in that grade.

Mobile1 oil in town is locally produced. So Ill go on with German imported oil :-)

have a good week end peeps :-)

not sure what you're getting at, but mobil 15w-50 is synthetic and pretty well regarded. I'd suggest using mobil 1 vtwin anyway though

Car is currently undergoing major maintenance at Porsche service center. Will share a video once its back. Until then, I am sharing a pic from last weeks P's get-together.
