Why nobody has ever thought that FINALLY we will have a place (that was missing in the 991) to put our phones?! 😍

The seats in that 992 look like they are out of an Audi R8 (the same as the Audi TT.)

Why is this even a thing?

Serious question. Windshield or A-pillar mount for use as a NAV device I get.

But an under-the-right-arm mount I don’t get.

Is this so that you can check your text messages at stop lights?

Any windshield or other type of mount “for use as a NAV”? In 2018? With a navigation system as the Porsche one, with online search, poi and google maps? Having a place for the phone is way a better thing FOR me! We have different needs! 😉

You didn’t answer the question: Why is a place in the center console into which you can plop your phone a good thing? FOR you. What’s it for?

Since, it seems, that you like the PCM Nav (not standard on all Porsches BTW), and given that hands-free phone operation works fine, why can’t your pocket be the cell phone holder?

In the place where the cup/phone holder is in the 992, there was a small coin holder (closed if you had smoke kit like in mine 991.2) and the only place to put the phone was under the arm rest. Keeping it in the pocket, while driving if you need it, is not handy! That new space could fit my needs; if it closes like the cupholder in the new panamera or cayenne, is going to be even better!

...and that interior looks to me like something out of the 90's, what with the big buttons and mini-nubbin switches.

Interior shots have been pulled from the article...but I managed to save them nevertheless!

Below, summarizing all of the opinions voiced so far (not including mine)

At least we have a nice shelf to put toys, books, and ornaments
