I think it will be an option to have it painted black.

992 now has a version of BMW's "Bangle Butt" which alienated their loyalists for about ten years a decade ago but secured new customers in new markets for BMW and created more overall sales....good for Porsche VW strategy in the long term, new loyalists can be recruited with this new design as BMW did....

So,whoever designed the 992 now has a famous rear end named after them..."blank butt"

This is actually the majority of people.

Same parking lot, different guy. Pointed to a Model S. Said "that's a neat car, what is it?" I told him, "a Tesla Model S". He said "who makes it?" I said "Tesla". He said, "yeah, but is it a Ford or a Toyota or what?"

This is in the 4th biggest city in the country.

A folding Transformer-like rear spoiler like on the Panamera GTS/Turbo would be cool.

Car also got the painted rear bumper lower surround right in their render (not sure if any of the pre-production cars showed that).
May it be.....?

Plus, it's not anybody we're talking about here. It's Georg Kacher, one of the most influential automotive journalists in the world (Automobile Magazine's longtime European Bureau Chief). He should know, right?

On the mules this crease was accentuated with that white tape to make it look more like 991, similarly to how there were white lines on the front hood.

The 992 spoiler is one part, that reviewer was just confused.

Same with your hopes about the area between the rear window and engine intake - it was covered with vinyl on mules to make them look like 991. On 992 it will be black, although there might be an option to add color there.

If Porsche can figure a way to make it black and charge for body color, and all body color and charge for black, it will!

True on both...well, dreams shattered once again...

In any case, I love the idea of visually extending the rear window towards the engine intake and wouldn't have it painted differently.
