The 992 doesn't looks so different from the 991 (on the outside)as to affect my interest one way or the other. It is still mostly a 991 in form, and I like the 99. I''m waiting to see, sit in and drive a production 992 before making a judgement about the interior. When I first saw the 991 interior it looked cramped and busy with its high console and row of buttons, but it turned out to be less obtrusive and more functional than the previous generation.
I have have seen nothing that suggests the 992 is a shrunken Panamera (the 3/4 inch longer front cap doesn't equal that) or takes Audi design cues in its interior because it has more electrics.
The negativism would be baffling were this not a Porsche internet forum.

Fixed regular GT3 spoilers are now looking good even for the base models............must be cheaper to execute this new spoiler.........more profits..........and it conforms with Panamera design functionality
Basically, there are minor changes with light design in both front and rear.............. connecting the rear lights not as well executed as 996 C4S or 993.................make rear end look like it needs a diet and not that distinctive anymore..........
993 and 991 were design hits..........looks like we have the 964 or 996 upon us......skipping generations for good designs it seems.......

I was driving the streets of Los Angeles the other day when I came upon what I thought was a 992 mule, but it wasn't. It was the new Panamera. Oops. Yes, they are distinguishable but the exterior design differences between the two models have narrowed markedly. I agree with those who think we should wait for the final product before passing judgement on the 992 but I also am a firm believer that newer is not always better and that Porsche is completely capable of an interior and exterior misfire with the 992. "New Coke" - how did that turn out? One of the stupidest business decisions of the 20th century. I am in no way saying the 992 will be Porsche's "New Coke" moment. My point being that newer is not always better. Just ask the executives at Coca-Cola.

Slc4s - Give me some slack, I live in Los Angeles, the capital of drama! Drama, no drama, whatever, that was my observation. Here are two pictures, one of the new Panamera and one of the 992. Perhaps you can see why, at first glance, I may have thought I was seeing a 992 test mule (which have been spotted in LA, by the way) rather than what it actually was. There are definitely similarities between the two. In fact, I am a big fan of the new Panamera's looks. A big improvement from the previous generation. Just not a fan of the homogenization I am seeing between the 911 and the Panamera.

991. Turbo spoilers might be the last of the most practical and best eye appealing of the road going non GT cars. You can see out the back and it flows better with the lines of the overall design..and the downforce is still there..

It really does look like a Panamera coupe.
