991.1 is the best looking and most elegant water cooled 911. Seconded by 997.1

If I could not 991.1 C2S with gen 2 GT3 motor, I would be all over it.

Porsche is doing everything right with the GT models except make enough of them. Says something the tone of newer models isn't the same as here.

You missed my point. The 964 -> 993 and 996 -> 997 examples I gave are similar in transition from 991 -> 992: Wider, new interior, advertised as 'all new' but really based on the previous generation platform, and comprehensively better cars overall.

Wait until you see the car in person, undisguised, before making claims that they **** the bed...

Every time a side-by-side shot of the 991 and 992, the 991 looks dated.

That's not true of a 991 next to, say, a newer Corvette? Not sure what it's supposed to prove.

^ Can't stand the Aero package. IMO best looking 991.1 is the 50th in graphite or black.

I am a big fan of the 991 and 991.2 in the narrow body configuration. It looked and felt smaller which I liked.

Personally I think making all cars wide bodied is a mistake.

The wide body has its place but honestly Porsche Is injecting too much design language from the Panamera.

But then again the Panamera was designed to resemble a 911 and takes design inspirations from Porsche vehicles of the past. That tail light bar, wide-body... all found on Porsches long before the Panamera.

Ironic.

The Panamera was styled to look like a 911, and now the 992 has been styled to look like a Panamera.

Makes my head spin.

Yup. Always need to replace ones who drop out and increase market share. Agree.

The "911 poster on the wall" group aren't the target market anymore.
