Yes, that just means it's a well run business. They build a great product, and are also very good at marketing and pricing it. It's a winning combination.

I wouldn't throw it out of my garage for leaking oil, but yeah, that's some weak work there.

The designers are clearly approaching the line that separates respect for tradition from sheer laziness... either that, or they are under orders to package-protect something with an awkward form factor, like a hybrid battery or something.

They have to make a larger frunk somehow.. Or to compensate for batteries.

My words!! They could’ve easily straightened out the connecting lines to make it one straight line!

Man...some designers at Porsche really want to see the world burn...

Given that the 992 is based on the 991 platform I have my doubts that the physical trunk box itself will be larger, at least longitudinally. I think what we are looking at is just a lid redesign and a horrible one at that!

Some interesting info ...

Seems like they're trying to differentiate the base from the S even more so by HP output.

Shifter looks like it's here to stay, makes room for cup holder.

Cheaper interior quality, and Alcantara headliner optional!

Same wheelbase. Only, 1" longer over the nose.

Base model 19"/20" and S 20"/21" front/rears.

Only one wide body style is also a move for simplicity in manufacturing and cost.

Quieter cabin.

Controls and ease of use seems questionable.

Rear bumper exhausts that aren't connected.

Optional PSCB brakes with white calipers.

For the price hike$ we'll see, seems like the bean counters also have their day.

Manual will be 7 speed while PDK borrowed from the Panamera will be 8 speed.

Reveal NOVEMBER in LOS ANGELES.

This is pretty strong/harsh language from Car and Driver:

"A new design theme matches these changes with a small horizontal shelf bisecting the dashboard just below the central screen. The central air vents have been moved below this shelf to allow the screen to be mounted as high as possible; this means that the vents atop the dash now handle more of the airflow and have slider controls. This stylistic shelf is only about an inch wide, so it isn't for storage, and it has a textured-plastic surface that seems designed to capture dust. Moreover, it looks cheaper than the metallic trim that bisects the dash on the current 911, but plusher trim options will be offered.

This sense of cost reduction continues to the steering wheel, which feels more plasticky and has molded facsimiles of hex-head screws. The ignition switch is similarly downgraded from the metallic-looking item in the 991. The upper surface of the center console now sports a piano-black finish that looks good when new but is vulnerable to scratches. Even the manual transmission's shift **** is now plainly plastic rather than having the leather-and-metal look of its predecessor. And the currently standard microsuede headliner becomes an option, replaced by a less-rich cloth.

Hmmm. So in summary - a questionable exterior redesign and cheaper interior materials - with a 10%-15% bump in base price for the privilege?

I’ve been on the fence til now while looking for reasons to believe, but after that article am feeling confident in my ‘19 GTS being delivered in a few weeks.

Few more tid-bits ..seems like some of these mule sightings were used for journalist ride-alongs.

Nice the manual is going to be an option. So PDK will be bundled into the $$ increases and manual will be a $0 option now , but not really a $0 option like now
