White calipers not as pretty as the yellow ones though.

I decided this weekend to stay with the 991.2 build for the following reasons:
1) I think the 992 will be a beautiful car with a ton of presence. But the 911's as a whole age really well, and the 991 will continue to also be a beautiful (and perhaps more elegant) car.

2) If I get a 992 I would want to wait for the C4 - which means waiting another year most likely - too long for since I'm currently driving a Fiat 124 Abarth.

3) Wheels and tires - it took me forever to decide between the 19' vs 20's for the 991.2. Ultimately I decided i did not want to deal with two sets of wheels and will be going to all seasons on 20's for the 991.2. Not sure if this would work with the 20' and 21' wheels on the 992.

4) Between jumping from a C2 to a C4 and a likely base price bump and the need for a second set of wheels, I suspect the 992 would have added another $15K - $18K to my total, and I decided I like the 991 enough not to spend that extra cash (I prefer not to lease or finance).

5) I value elegance combined with sportiness over aggression. While both cars have a nice balance of both, I personally like the smooth lines of the 991.

6) I know I love the interior of the 991. While I will surely miss some of the functionality of the digital dash of the 992, I don't have enough information to know whether I will like it better than the current version.

Bottom line - I think the 992 will be an awesome car. And the 991.2 will also remain an awesome car. But the 991.2 feels right for me, at this moment in time .

We're lucky to have such choices.

I do like how they will have another option besides standard & PCCB,....one extreme to another. I really wish they would get away from a standard color caliper for a given type of brake system,....let me pick my own caliper color,.....or at least give me a choice of 5 or so colors from the factory.

Choice is always good!

Porsche will never let us spec yellow calipers without spending a small fortune on PCCBs, or red calipers without buying an S etc...

Yeah, it's pretty much too far down the road now,....but maybe offer silver, or body color match? (but there again, would have to leave out Red and Yellow)

Take for example Lava Orange,....looks a little out of place with red or yellow calipers, but would really look good with silver, black or even body color.
Same for Miami Blue, to me looks great with Yellow PCCBs, but not so hot with Red,....but silver or black would look awesome without the expense of PCCB.

And now we have white,....which is not the best color for a brake caliper IMO. A black or red car with white calipers?...(not to mention others) would look a bit comical.
(white should have been silver)

Just make it a $1500 option to change caliper color,....and I'm betting a lot of people would spec it. Actually surprised Porsche does not offer if for the $$$.

I was leaning toward the 991.2 until seeing the most recents pics. I am not thrilled about the digital dash and generally agree that the lines of 991.2 are classic. I love my 19" rims, too. Another couple months of waiting until we see what the 992 brings to the road.

Same here, I looked at the interior of the Panamera for an idea of what the 992 will look like at the dealership showroom and I was not happy with the toy-like looking tachometer and even the chronometer sports chrono looked less like a high end sports watch and more like a toy.

I also really hate the glossy black paneling for the buttons on the center console- just looks like and feels like cheap plastic.

I don't think this look will age well, but I know this is highly subjective.

Unless you have a white car with black wheels. I wish I had that option available when I bought mine.

A white car with yellow calipers just doens't look very good IMHO.

How they going to have an 8 speed manual?? I thought a 7 speed was too much.

What's the only reason for an 8 speed? Emissions??
