But, if the latter is above zero then you may be able to make it up with more volume (next year) even if the former is negative.
You're talking in circles.

PS - Hate to say it... but 996.2 is really ugly. I'd rather take 996.1

FYI - the 996 in the photo you posted is heavily modified and doesn’t look much like a factory 996. That’s an aftermarket hood and an aftermarket bumper cover. The hood lines up perfectly with the bottom of the headlights in the factory design.

I was curious and googled, so I’ll save others the time:

Maybe, but I don’t think so. The point was that the per-unit profit varies from first unit to last unit across a time period such as a month, quarter or year.

Back to Porsche.

Oh for sure but this argument is decades long and Porsche's justification for SUV's and cross overs as being the saviors of their company is shaky when they pretty much pulled themselves up with the Boxster and 996 on their own. Regardless , the argument should be completely meaningless now under the VW umbrella where there are plenty of crossovers , SUV's and sedans from VW and Audi to fill the voids for the masses. The acquisition of Porsche should have allowed them to produce sports cars exclusively. Allowing this silly competition between brands under the same umbrella has always been something I've found incredibly conflicting.

In these last few pics posted, the hood seems to align with bumper/fender seams as opposed to the recent 992 pics.

It aligned on some earlier mules.

Looks more like data recorder equipment for development purposes, not Hybrid/HV equipment. In fact, you can see the velcro where they can mount different sensors in different places.

Looks like a pair of flowmeters, or something of the sort. Too small to be a batt bank.

I'd rather them make a new Cayman priced 912 than a hybrid.

Yes. Definitely looks like fluid type connections, not electrical. Could be water ballast/weight distribution testing. Similar to what they do in aircraft.
