I think this car will look a lot better in person - including the spoiler. And it will be more powerful and have better gas mileage.

Agree with you. I would also expect it to have an improved and stiffer chassis for better handling.

I'm excited for this car - hoping they'll have it at the LA Auto Show so I can check it out in person and be ready to place an order for a late Spring or early Summer delivery.

The Carrera has lost its smooth lines and svelte shape - it now looks like a small sports car from the B pillar forward and a large sports car from the B pillar rearward e.g. two cars glued together. I hate to say this its just getting to big for my taste. Its no longer about the power, torque, handling and braking - the current gen has plenty of that - its now about design and aesthetics. The back end is destroying the look and aesthetic for me.

If you think that's bad, check out this hideous thing I saw at the Porsche Experience Center yesterday...

In fact, this brand has a long history of making funny looking cars...

Some require service after as little as 100 hours of racing
(kidding - 100 hours is amazing)

I think the 992 looks great. Basically its a more muscular 991 on the surface and with new tech under the skin, and more power and performance - and choice- across the usual broad range over time. The rumors of a hybrid range topper are really exciting. I'm guessing it will have 918 levels of performance will keep Porsche where it has been with the Turbo S- in a class of 1 as a practical supercar.

I think I'm frozen in the 996/997/991 era - the 996 and 997 GT3s feel like you're inside a 981/718 Cayman - nice and close, intimate driving experience. I'm very happy with my 991.2 GTS but it really feels like a bigger car - that small sports car feeling is going, going gone. I realise the performance envelope will be increased further - but where does it stop. Moreover, I'm a pretty decent driver too - so for me to say that.............I know getting old

The rear looks like it's going to be really, really bad. Way too much going on back there. Will need to see the final product.

I think this video gives a pretty idea of what the rear will look like with the spoiler up. Seems to look better with darker colors - kind of like a big falcon wing. With the lighter colors there is a big contrast with the dark engine bay area that highlights the effect.

The rear spoiler still looks way out of proportion to the rest of the car no matter what view, angle, pix or video....it looks out of place. Would like to see what exactly will be body colored or black on the front,....if it stays the way it is with a huge black swath for the entire front I'm not thrilled. Really waiting on what a sport design/GTS front will look like. Why does the 959 look so much better up front?,.....what happened to Porsche along the way that made black plastic a favorite design feature both front and rear?

Actually, in that video, the spoiler, while still not good, isn't what bothers me most. It's that the car looks so bland. It has lost so much of its organic curves, it barely looks like a 911 anymore. They should call it the 911 Canamera.

That spoiler..talk about opening up your rear end ...a z350 with a wing

the whole interior and exterior styling forced me to order a 991.2. Two years ahead of my plan
