Whaaa!!! you don't see STG.

Just look at the outline on the 992 spoiler....it covers the entire area like the 959.

I see it....

Your drawn outline covers it. That's the only similarity

The 992 doesn't even come close to the fender edge ...

I'm liking the 992 exterior more, but still like the 991 better. At least at this stage of things.

Not sure why everyone is complaining about the rear spoiler. Actually think it looks better than the one on the 991. Especially at the 3/4 angle.

My main concern with the 992 is the interior... The great thing about the 991.2 was its (relative) simplicity.

As others have said, all this tech just dates so quickly. I never use sat nav for actual navigation, just use Google maps. So much better!

I’m sorry, I can’t buy a 992 if that is what I’ll look like driving down the highway. It’s aweful. I have a 991 Turbo, and I’m sure the 992 Turbo will look great. I’m also looking at that new mid engined Vette.

I think it looks seriously functional. Won't bother me at all from the drivers seat.

We are all extremely fortunate and I am very thankful of what I have.

Lately, though , I'd say within really the last 5 years the enthusiast car market has taken a serious nose dive and I find myself disagreeing more and more with the new car designs and this 992 is reaching for me, unforgivable levels of change that I do not think are for the best. Hopefully I'll be surprised and proven wrong but with nearly 20 years of experience in the auto industry I can see the writing on the wall the same as I have with every other brand that has lost it's way over the years.

The main problem here is that Porsche along with many other makes simply don't understand their US market for certain models which they incorrectly believe is made up of rich millennial's and techno lovers who go goo goo for technology overload. The truth is that the Porsche sports car market is made up of many more 40+ year old's who approach technology as I do with a " could take it or leave it " mentality. Many of whom find the tech overload extremely frustrating and over complicated in the same way that they view their smart phone as something that is as much an annoyance as it is a convenience. These same people also came to Porsche because of the history, classic styling and the cars they grew up loving that were far more focused in their purpose. I'm 35 and grew up without a cell phone until I was a teenager , I could care less about at least 50% of the tech on these new cars and would be just as happy if my 991 had a regular radio in place of the PCM screen. In fact, I would be even happier if Porsche would just make me a brand new 80's or 90's Carrera but that's for another thread.......
To be honest with you I truly love the 991 generation as my favorite 911. Maybe I'm too young to sincerely appreciate pre-964 911s and I do put the 993 as second on my list, but the 991 to me really hit the sweet spot of analog meets digital, an awesome balance. And the exterior styling hits the nail on the head for what I would want a 21st century 911 to look like, it's a stunning design IMO. Where we have conveniences like bluetooth/CarPlay (on the better 991 gen )/freaking ice cold AC etc but to me you can feel the similarities from prior 911 gens in the way the car sounds/drives/feels. There are still analog touches to the car like the mostly analog dash, the cool row of buttons on the center console/PCM/AC area, apparently analog shifters now too

Now I see the 992 as the shift away from analog and more towards digital on the scale which I don't really know how to feel about, even if its "the future".. Only time will tell, maybe I could open minded towards a more "futuristic" interior but most important to me is how does the 992 drive, is there the same 911 emotion/feel there. I'm worried its a simply a 2 door Panamera which is what people who might not be on this forum want, but a good/profitable market for Porsche to cater to

Maybe it was a good idea for me to queue up or express interest in a 992.1 C4 allocation awhile back with my dealer after all

It's already been confirmed that it will have a staggered 20/21 setup.
