It would have been ok if they just changed the taillight and leave everything the same as 991.

I cant spend 120k+ to look that bumper. The front is mediocre at best.

Yeesh... I'm sure the tech and engineering aspect of this is great but it looks bad. Just simply looks bad. Not done well enough. Looks like they need to go back to the drawing board on several angles. Hopefully there are some sport design facias out there that haven't been revealed. Just as the '12/13 991 looks dated in the front but saved with the sport design facia.

Hope it's not full of VW/Audi shortcuts. IMO this car is for those who want the "latest and greatest" for bragging rights. The first 992 buyers are definitely going to be Porsche's guinea pigs.

This brand is starting to make some awfully ugly cars.

Also the rear looks like it has Corvette C7 fangs.. A really bad design that was disliked from the beginning and still do this day. The thin drooping colored body line. No go.

Lot of 992 hate here. Reminds me of the same discourse on RL when every other new model comes out. LOL.

992 will be a huge hit and better in almost every way........and the 991 will look dated. That's the way it goes.

With all due respect, and I like you, but filling up the thread with the same 1-2 liners about how much it sucks or ugly it is isn't getting the point across anymore.

Write a 200 word review and get it all out in one shot and call it a day?

The VW group is pulling Porsche into their group GM style and have no clue about their halo heritage. I predict this will be a success in other parts of the world, but ultimately will lead to a decline when Asians find their next interest.

Agreed 100%. And by then us, the Porschephiles, will have been disenchanted.
I for one am finding myself not interested in the new Porsches.

This saddens me, as I spend most of my life admiring and enjoying the wonderful cars the brand has produced. But with the introduction of electrical power steering and wheelbase increase something very essential in how they 'feel' appears to have been lost.

After having recently driven Italian cars (the 488, the Alfa 4c, and even the Alfa Stelvio QF SUV) I was blown away by their purity, responsiveness and the sense of life in them. Yes, the Italians will likely break, but what price character and emotion?

Porsche sells more 911's just in the USA per year (approx 10,000), than Ferrari sells total cars worldwide in a year (less than 9,000).

Porsche is filling the gap between Mercedes/BMW and the exotics, although they do keep moving closer downstream. The lines between Porsche and Mercedes, Audi, and BMW, will become even more blurred.

Porsche is no Ferrari. Was responding to the previous comparison. Ferrari isn't making $100K sports cars.

For the $$, the Porsche GT cars compete very well to many exotics.

But Alfas are cheaper than Porsches. I find the 4c tons more enjoyable than any Cayman, and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio much more fun than my fully performance specced Macan Turbo.

The 992 interior dash being so straight across reminds me of sedan styling .. something you'd see in an Audi or BMW.

Look at the graphic on the centre display. Looks like a 992 to me.
