I have a feeling that those AWE foilers (while very helpful with buffeting) probably disturb the laminar air flow enough to negatively impact the air resistance figure (and consequently fuel economy by some small amount) of the car. If not, they should totally be stock.

The buffeting is a caused by air entering the cabin (due to the inside air being at lower pressure than outside) and then being expelled (when the air reaches a volume great enough for the inside pressure to be higher than the outside pressure). The frequency and resonance mainly affect the human ear. You can mitigate it by changing the interior volume- by having a passenger, or by popping the rear of a sunroof. So I would posit laminar flow would be improved by stopping the buffeting- et that it is improved by the little edge on the AWE triangle. But I seriously doubt there is likely to be any noticeable differential resistance or fuel consumption in any case.

PS My Macan has the same problem: both front windows down is starts at around 40 mph.
