Again, ladies and gentlemen I give you the Audi 911...

Porsche is changing in response to forces beyond their control. The 911 of days of future past is dead.

I like the buttons. Would rather have them than the glass panel buttons of the Panamera.

Same here. Big time. Love the buttons. Dislike the cold, shiny plastic touch panels which provide zero tactile feedback that would tell you a detail oriented story about the underlying engineering within a car, such as the buttons do.

buttons are great - they are binary - on off. when you know where they are you move between settings without looking - thats why they are common in aircraft

I really think it's a mistake having such similar designs between everything else and the 911. I mean, get the creative juices flowing! Let's drop the lazy designing!!

Attachment 1287177
The first Porsche with that rear design was the 2012 Panamera Sport Turismo concept, and later the 718 and Panamera production car - not the Macan.

You captured it. And just as the 996 became identifiable by the "runny egg" headlights, the 992 will have "the Flying Nun" spoiler. No like,

I'll be keeping my 997 - 991. Performance of 992 will surpass earlier models (as new generations always do), but aesthetically, I think the redesign is a miss, especially the rear.

I'm wondering how touch-sensitive the new "buttons" will be. Can they be activated while wearing gloves? Can any Panamera people out there answer that?

What you’re seeing on the 911 interior spy pictures is unfortunately what you’ll get.
This makes me sad. What are Porsche doing to their iconic, halo model?

Doesn’t ring a bell, but I’m a big fan of yellow 911s.

100 percent agree, much prefer buttons to touchscreen. But I think somewhere around 50 buttons is just too many...

Same camp - buttons with a tactile feel and feedback. Also prefer the analog instrument cluster. Just maybe I am getting older

The thing about it is, you don't use most of the buttons. There are a crap ton for the HVAC that you just don't use because you put it on auto and leave it. When we first got our 958 Cayenne I was like "woah" but it's really not a big issue.

I prefer digital instruments with 'analog' (physical contact-based) buttons, for the same reason they do at Boeing. They don't do it that way because of aesthetic arguments, because of the engineers' personal preferences, because that's what the competition does, or because buttons are au courant in industrial design. They do it because it works better than anything else.

Touchscreens are fine, as long as there's a button somewhere that does the same thing.
