2020 NEXT GENERATION 992 SPY PICS & RELEASE
#811
Not sure if this has been discussed earlier, but I am curious about the white lines over the front hood/lid. Do they indicate a more 991-like design in the production version or will they go with the longer lid that ends with a straight line against the bumper as on this mule? If the latter is true, what is the purpose of the line(s)?

I think it is there to visually fool the viewer into thinking that the cut lines for the fender/frunk will be similar to the 991, which they will not be. The same reason they hide the taillights, etc. or add on fake air scoops on the sides on other mules. To deceive the viewer of what it will truly look like until the official release.
Of course in this case, we can see the actual cut lines for the front.

This seems to be the case. Coming up sooner than later for sure. Model year 2019 as thread suggests.
First post in this thread is almost a year old. Feb 2017.

Wonder why. (maybe because of poor demand on the 991.2, a regulatory/emissions thing, or just some reason that we aren't aware of)

I read there will be no 2019 991.2's
I think they need a jolt of a new generation to fuel sports car sales sooner than later.
Probably some over bearing regulatory Euro emissions too.

The present Corvette had the 991 as a target (many articles and even Chevy state this),.....for the new version(s) Chevy used a 991.2 Turbo as a target. The way I figure Chevy has stolen way more from Porsche in the last decade. :-)

So you're saying flared fenders are Chevrolet's invention and Porsche is "stealing" it?
