Yeah - nice find sub shooter. I do really like the wider fenders and exhaust pipe location, looks very GT2RS like

Still not a fan of the door handles, and it seems to be retaining a lot of the exterior design elements of the 991 which is kind of strange since each generation was a big design jump (993->996->997->991 etc)

The lightbar/strip I wonder if they will port that to all Carrera models since the 718/Panamera/Cayenne current gens have a similar stripe along the rear

Eager to see the finished exterior, not the interior lol

the door handles remind me of my parent's honda accord... When is this model coming out btw? End of 2018 as MY 2019? Or is it gonna be mid 2019?

I agree with you, although I think that some of the generational changes were bigger than others. The 993 -> 996 change was huge. The 997 -> 991 change was huge.

In my opinion, the 996 -> 997 change was more of an incremental change to an existing platform than a completely new design. Don't get me wrong - I think the change from 996 to 997 was significant, but not as much as the others mentioned. Perhaps the 992 will be more of an incremental change to the 991.

the small recessed handles collect scratches from rings and dirty people, the old school handles allow rescuers to get a better grip on the door for rescue

Headlights are awful. Hopefully it's just the camo.

I like these more then the previous ones. The front looks really nice,.....the mirrors, well I guess you can say they are more "modernized", but still they they are a bit too big and odd looking on the car, hopefully they have a sport design version waiting in the wings. The final word will of course be the rear which I'm still a tad worried about. Looking forward to it fully unveiled.

The hood lines, sorry, not a fan. The 911 shuns artifice and let's face it, the hood lines are artifice. They were used on the air-cooleds because the dip fed into the dash air intake. Look close, right at the cowl they had a little screen to stop most of the bugs and stuff from coming in. Key word being, "most". The odd bug and even pine needle would still sometimes make it onto the dash. Or water would get in there somewhere. So sometimes even in perfectly nice weather, ideal weather where the sun is out, air is fresh, you go around a corner and BOOM just like that your windshield is totally fogged. So whatever love people have for the look of those cars, believe me, it was a far from ideal design. Then to go and put that on a totally new millennium 911 where it serves no useful function whatsoever, again, best I can say, artifice. But then my least favorite design element of the 991 was those two tiny little creases they put in the front bumper. Only thing to like about them, a lot of people won't even notice. Well at least it looks like maybe they lost those.

Lines in general are a bad idea. Porsche knows this. The man himself has said that while a line may attract your attention, a smoothly curved surface rewards your gaze endlessly. It just never gets old. 356. A big part of why the 991.1 is the most beautiful 911 yet. And if marketing keeps pushing their focus pocus, maybe ever.

Yeah this is clearly like a mild 991 facelift exterior wise. Which is interesting as it uses a new chassis, but a great thing for 991 owners. Also it’s a great sign that Porsche are keeping with the extremely incremental changes which pay huge dividends to the long term 911 brand and image, and make 911’s legendarily stand out with respect in a world of constantly, drastically changing cars.

That’s extremely true and a great quote. Proof is in the 911 pudding.

Looks like camo. Very hard to see what's really beneath to me.

Anyway, those door handles are terrible. Remind me of a BMW Z3.

The rear ear is shaping up to be interesting. As is the front.

Dang. If black is supposed to be slimming, a Carrera White example should be renamed "Baluga White".

It certainly looks more agressive with the new front and beefier rear than the 991.2. I am still having a hard time liking the rear spoiler though, as many have pointed out. On a diferent note, the 2018 991.2 will be last 991model and only have been produced between 2016-2018? Thats a short period. Why not introduce the new smalller turbo engines with the launch of the 992, instead of moving from 991.1 to 991.2? Asking for a friend...
