True, but they haven’t made a Ferrari with a V12 in the proper position wrt the driver since the engine out maintenance days, so having one would be a major pita.

There's a classic commentary from the Radio Le Mans guys - it went something like this:

commentator 1 - there goes the 2nd Porsche RSR, doesn't it sound good

commentator 2 - unfortunately thats the sound of losing
A decade old design won GTE Pro at Le Mans, and the Astons have been very competitive throughout the season. That's due to BOP, quite obviously.

The somewhat disappointing first year of the new RSR is moreso attributable to teething troubles and poor execution by the team (especially in IMSA - the final hour of Sebring, all the punctures, the fire at WEC Silverstone, etc.)

The biggest issue the car faces is how draggy it is; I spoke at length with Marco at Laguna Seca regarding this. IMO will take more generous BOP to address.

It'll be fine, new buyers will love it and 991 owners will find something to hate. Personally, I'm more interested in how it drives - I like the changes to the body - still looks every bit a 911.

Yep. +1. I like the hood lines too. A bit 993ish.

You can’t graft 993 accents on an even bigger and rounder 911 and claim you made it more 993ish though. I saw a (I think Guards) red 993 C4S on my way to work the other day, freshly detailed, paper dealer plates on still, looked like it hadn’t been driven since it was new. It was so much smaller than the 991, and the way the back fell away let the hips show themselves in an amazing way. It was just an absolutely stunning car all around. I couldn’t help but think about how if I had gotten a 993, how it wouldn’t have been hard at all to find a stick, and its value probably would have dropped a lot less.

One thing which I've noticed is that the 992 looks to be a lot wider in the rear than the current gen...
It's one of those types of things which make a real impact in the flesh/metal... harder to see the overall impact in photos.
If it starts to emulate the curves of the 993 wide-body I may just be compelled into changing my 991.1
Sigh, resistance is futile.

It'll look cool, but MAN, the hips of the 991 C2 are already so wide. After having a bunch of wide 4 doors, one of my favorite aspects of the 911 is how compact it is. It fits excellently in parking spots (making it easy to provide ample room from the next car or cars). The one aspect of it that does already get too close for comfort in terms of width to the spots next to it are the hips. I can imagine getting even wider might start to sacrifice that "compact" feeling, at least in terms of width footprint.

The 992 will be wider overall front and rear than the 991. It has been mentioned before.

This will cause issues for Turbo drivers. It's already wider than the parking spaces in some countries!

New spy pics on the CAB 4 with top down. Out today. I LOVE the hood lines and the wide fenders. Looks like a lot of camouflage still on the rear bumper. I think it looks bad-a$$!

This view you see a pointed front end bumper similar to .2 GT3

Overall, more square lines and harder creases like the styling of the models across the whole Porsche line.
