2020 NEXT GENERATION 992 SPY PICS & RELEASE
#496
If next gen 911 (many call it 992, I disagree. The codes for each generation of 911 are so random, it will be quit unlikely the next gen 911 will be 991+1.) will share platform with r8 or lambo, is it also mean next gen 911 will using full aluminum or even aluminum/carbon hybrid chassis? That would be exciting, the next gen 911 may gain a huge weight reduction!

Porsche seems to think that adding more computers and displays will solve everything.
Their greatest enemy is the older version of themselves.

And furthermore, it is 911, the car designed by the laziest designers on the planet. I wont be surprised if the design department decide to keep the look mostly unchanged while change everything inside.

I realized two interesting thing about the steering wheel in this interior shot.
1. The mode selection dial is present, but no bulge above the center console. It may suggest that the mode selection dial on steering wheel will become a standard feature and does not require SC package.
2. The multi-function control on steering wheel has 4 more buttons than current gen 911 and 718. And is the same as the current gen para. It suggests the new 911 will use the updated system more or less borrowed from new para.
EDIT:
I think there is a bulge on the center console. I didnt see.

These two red circled things under the frunk look like electric coolant pumps with the green circled one being a de-bubbler or reservoir.
Either points to charge cooling for a turbo(s) or liquid cooling for perhaps battery packs for electric drivetrain motor.
Also note the graduated blue cylinder on the bumper, looks like the guy was topping it up.
My $0.02

There is nothing nice about how the back end looks with the spoiler up. In place it looks terrific.

Didn't Porsche already officially state that the next gen 911 WILL NOT have an hybrid drivetrain, and that they were no longer developing it for the 911 platform?
Any future GT3 that has a turbo is not longer a GT3, period.
People, please stop spreading the rumors that the 991.2 GT3/RS is also be the last generation of normally-aspirated cars. Its BS.
Save your energy and let the dealers/PCNA know you have NO interest in buying an all electric 911 autonomous electric pod in the future.

I personally believe Porsche has no choice but to go turbo with the 992 GT3 if they want to keep up with where the competition will most likely be by then. Not to mention, by the time the 992 Carrera's hit the road, the gap in power between the Carrera and the current GT3 will become even more narrow. I just don't know how much more power Porsche can squeeze out of the NA platform reliably.
^ If the above does happen, the current 991 GT3's will most likely skyrocket in value.
