718.2 Base peak torque 410Nm (302 ftlb)
718.2 S peak torque 450Nm (332 ftlb)
992 Base peak torque 475Nm (350 ftlb) 3lTT static compression ratio 10.5 (perhaps 11:1)
992 S peak torque 525Nm (387 ftlb) 3lTT
992 GTS peak toque 575Nm (424 ftlb) 3lTT
992 T to move to 4lTT static compression ratio 10 (perhaps 10.5:1)
992 T to move to 4lTT as above - a variant of this engine to be used in the 992 mid-engined RSR

The news will be in the static compression ratio, boost control technology and move to 4l for the T and TTS

Feels like in 911 terms, the 991 is around for such a short while. Especially if 992's are 2019 models. But I guess it does fit in with the general generational length. I remember when the 991 came out, Porsche said they built the platform to be able to go 10 years on the market, but perhaps the rush to the new modular platform changed that.

Source? This sounds very interesting. Although I have a hard time converting Nm to lb/ft in my head...

what's up with the dual vs quad exhaust tips in the regular (ie non TURBO) 992 mules ?

dual: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wIYgB8gus.../w980/open.jpg

quad: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mCa-NJfD8...r-spied-11.jpg

and the electric plug like bung sticking out of the passenger rear fender: https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-veZFrxPZe...bo-Mule-13.jpg

as the bung is on the TURBO turbo mule, perhaps the TURBO is getting 918 like electrification?

The current 991.2 Carrera has the same thing - just difference between standard and sport exhaust option.

Love how wide it is. If that is not the Turbo, then how wide will the Turbo/S be? Nice...

Now if Porsche could just work on that tail light design. Hopeful for something like this:

The Turbo is going to be crazy wide. Early mules of the Carrera had fender flares on them foreshadowing the newer mules that now have wider fenders. Now you're seeing those fender flares on the early Turbo mules.

The 991.2 was announced in late 2015. Production began in January 2016, or earlier. First production 991.2 models, I have one, with a January 2016 build date, were sold as 2017 models.

I expect a similar scenario for the 992. Announcement in late 2018, production begins around January 2019, first production sold as 2020 models.

Gives a three model year run for the 991.2. Not unusual for Porsche.

The early carrera mules had that (antenna?) thing as well.

Let's be realistic here, how freaking wide do you want the 911 to get?
