There are at least two different black 911s in that video - look at plate numbers - and one sounds exactly - eXACTLty - like a 718 while the other sounds more flat-6-like.
But, if you keep on writing there will be no Bug Engines in the 911 and if you write it in all caps, and do it enough times then, hey, it might come true.
I see a lot of overlap in 'product marketing space' between the 350 hp Bug Engine and the 370 hp F6. Obviously there's a world of difference between the two, but the intelligence of the vast majority of car buyers has been reduced to a single number - HP - and "how well can I run my Apps on it?"
It doesn't seem like as much of a full overhaul as I would have expected. The wing cutouts from the quarter panel mean it's a new body and not just a bumper job like the midcycle refreshes, but where the full shape of the 997.1, 991.1, etc was new, this doesn't seem to the case here. I wonder if they're trying to save money after the dieselgate thing.
There haven't been many major overhauls of the basic 911 shape
I mean the basic shape was slowly evolved from 1964-1998. 996 was obviously a huge change and the 991 was a pretty significant increase in size.
I wouldn't expect Porsche to radically change the shape of the car so soon after radically changing it with the 991.

The exhaust is still being worked on. These are "test mules".
I like the 991 interior - I am getting a '17 after all, so I will be stuck with it either way. That said, the interior has been unchanged for coming on 7 model years. It has aged well, but it's probably due for a change.
I'm torn on the Panamera console. I do think it looks kinda futuristic, but the fingerprints would drive me nuts. I can see why people would hate it.

The 991 was only the THIRD platform change in the 911's entire history. Don't expect 997 > 991 changes with each generation. Isn't going to happen.
Interior is what really needs updating. I'm guessing a Panamera type deal.

This is precisely the problem. Touch interfaces require that you use your eyes and fingers in closed loop. Actual switches enable you to use only your fingers.
Of course, switches that all feel the same (981/991 center console) are only a little better than a touch interface. But, they don't require quite as much 'eye time' as a pure touch interface.
