Obviously the lower rear, and rear overall is disguised. Looks like a Mitsubishi as is

Expect the cabin to be slightly pushed forward a bit. When I say a bit, like an 1" or something. Same interior space though.
Moving the engine another inch forward?

This definitely looks a little cab-forward. Could be an illusion.

I'm guessing, which moves the cabin too. Speculation at this point.

look at the joint discrepancy around the rear quarter window, hence my false rear "wrap" comment..... the rear door joint and rocker...... also looks like the roofline falls away more steeply than the rear wrap.

I don't hate it. Doesn't matter to me though as I still plan on ordering a 991.2 GTS at the end of my current lease.

Do the brake disks on this one look extra large to anyone else?

It has the long thin light between the tail lights and it is in the snow so.... is this just a wide body 992 C4 in testing and will the 992 C2s be a bit narrower?

[Breathes sigh of relief.] When 997 Turbo came out I just knew I had to move on from my perfectly adequate but now terribly dated-looking 996 Turbo; when 991 came out I wasn't as certain but liked it from the beginning and figured I'd get one if they made a GTS version.

But now that this is out, at least from the visuals in this thread I see no reason to replace my GTS. Might that change over time? I suppose it could. Reasons I might replace it with a 992:

1) 991 gets destroyed and I want another new car, not used
2) I grow tired of PDK and decide I want another manual and make my peace with going back into the turbo camp (lotta "ifs" there)
3) Something about the driving dynamics of the 992 moves the ball so far forward that it makes sense.
4) The promised huge run-up in 991.1 GTS prices actually occurs and somebody offers me 3-400,000 for mine.

But what won't trigger a trade by me is the aesthetics.

Default Early pics

I remember when the first spy pics of the 991 hit the web---I wasn't impressed and thought---Porsche made a mistake....I was wrong, I love the 991 evolution much more than the 997 generation.

Maybe these early pics are hiding a beautiful evolution of our beloved 911---maybe not---early signs indicate a less than ideal change. The front cab does appear awkward---some 993 touches may make this car a beauty and the driving experience may be better--Porsche does seem to engineer a better driving experience with each generation---

Cheers

I might hold out and see what the 994 brings...

The rear end reminds me of an Audi A7 for some reason.
