It's getting there, isn't it? I wonder how pronounced the wheel wells are from the driver's seat. One thing I like about older sports cars and 911's is that you can see the fender wells when driving.

I do like that the designs are iterative. This car isn't very well camouflaged and wonder why.

Handles look streamline and flush. Notice the 5 lug wheels and how they appear to look like center locks.

Because they WANTED it to be seen. So that rumors would start and people would begin discussing it publicly... like this thread. The hype is free marketing.

Correct!

Notice the FLUSH door handles??

Interesting bit of styling that their design is echoed in the front corner lights.

I guess so, but not much build-up for two years away.

They had to do something to recover from the sh!tty 991.2 after the glorious 991.1

I hate the door flap. No bueno. 911s look best with the classic pull handle.

I'm sure it's some sort of stupid efficiency thing.

While all of these models are mid-engined, the 911 will retain its signature rear-engine mounting. Just don’t be surprised if said mounting is closer to the center of the car than in previous generations.

After driving a Cayman S for 6 years, and test driving a 997 prior to buying the 991, the 991 handling is much closer to mid-engine and was a much faster learning curve on the handling characteristics of the 991 vs 997, for me. So inch by inch they are getting there, but i hope the rear traction is not compromised, that is what i am really getting used to and like a lot, i knew the limits of the cayman as far as traction out of a corner, but the 991 is entirely different in that category....

One benefit, you can buy a cheap replacement from a 1986 Accord if something happens to it......

Overall, you're not looking at a 997 to 991 entire platform change.

I must say along with all the other new Porsche models, I'm not a huge fan of the excessive squaring off the of lines. Looking more BMW and MB.

I really like the the softer lines and curves.

Somehow, the 991.1 seems like such a clean, classic design. The 992 looks fine, of course, but there is something about it I cannot put my finger on. The change from the 997 to 991 was much more dramatic.

hate to say this but the 991.1 with cup aerokit bumpers blows all the new models away in the looks department.

+ that 3.8... although doesn't blow like the 3.0...
