It's just too bad that the "times" are looking very compromised lately. More fake, less real. More shortcuts, less eloquent design. More autonomous looks, less distinction.

I don't hate it,....there are lots of things I do like about it, but IMO not a very inspired makeover, could have been so much better.

Instead of paying much more and getting less, we should be seeing more standard equipment (LEDs, dimming mirrors, keyless entry, etc) for the increase, not the reduction of interior/exterior content and quality.
I never thought too much about spending money on a Porsche as normally the quality was top notch, it appears now they are regressing, but asking more......sad.

just a wag here but maybe it has to do with pedestrian impact requirements? they need to round the corners enough to meet the standard and maybe the double point of the fender and lined up hood would prevent that.

Man...some designers at Porsche really want to see the world burn...

All of these assumptions about build quality are unsubstantiated and therefore useless to be discussed until the point of time where you all saw the official release in November this year and sat in a 992.

Agreed. One of the articles mentioned the interior was still a prototype interior and heavily camouflaged. Which to me says that final materials were not in these mules that were driven. Which is typical at this point in development of an all-new vehicle.

I'll be at the LA Auto Show for the early press days before the show opens to the public. I'll hopefully have access to sit inside the 992 and will take as many pictures as possible and will post a thread with pics and impressions.

All you have to do is look at Panny and new Cayenne for interior finish quality. Will be the same.

Yep. I checked out the new Cayenne at the dealership while I was getting my car serviced. It's clear that Porsche seems to be aligning all of their interior design across the models......

Interior finish and quality of my 2017 Panamera 4 was up there with my 991.1C2 and my 991.2 Carrera T.

You did a nice write up of the functionality or lack of it. They should use you for market research.

Porsche, great at engineering, bad at technology. I mean, they can't even get a decent back up camera or stereo in these $100K++ cars and that doesn't even begin to touch the important stuff.

Good riddance. Naturally aspirated tailpipes.

Now that's a car I'd BUY!
