I honestly have to say, to those of you about to spend well into the 100K's for a new 911, I'd recommend waiting for a 992. And this coming from someone who has gotten up close and personal with one in a dream. Yes, there is a lot not to like about it, namely for anything near sports car purists, but IMO seeing it for yourself to see if the pro's outweigh the cons would be beneficial. And yes, in some areas the looks are becoming homogenized and too cluttered/convoluted, but it vastly still looks like a 991.... with more convolution, a bit bigger/thicker, and a slightly shallower greenhouse (which I don't love, and starts to go against the 911's hallmark of a sports car that doesn't feel like a tanker).
Those of us with .1's who specifically want .1's due to the N/A powerplants, won't feel swayed, if anything probably cling to our cars tighter, as the 992 is a huge departure in ways going far past the .2. But if you're a .2 shopper, the 992 will simply be a boosted version of that powerplant, so in that respect it's only a positive for you.

They always move the game on and people will keep buying. Current gen owners will complain as always - its the Porsche way.

Curious if the price of the new pdk will continue to go down and how shorter gears/more usable tq/better fuel economy will affect 6mt and 7mt sales. I think if the GT cars stay NA they will keep the 7 speed pdk. If they get turbos or batteries, the 8 sp is more robust and they might end up with it, but its too many gears IMO. Regardless of how the 992 looks all the little chassis and drivetrain changes are gonna make it drive noticeably better... but Im not a fan of the new styling cues yet. Its gonna take a couple years to recalibrate to what a 911 looks like. Hoping they make at least 1 more NA 4.0 gt3 before the party is over...

Is it just me or does it seem that, across all product lines except the GT cars, Porsche is reducing the vertical height of its front bumpers and adding more angle of attack up front. That front end looks way too shallow to me, same as the 718, which looks awful.

i was just referring to the black accents on the exterior of a GTS ... looking at the front and back of the white 992, there is a lot of black. Am thinking, it will look pretty neat with black wheels especially with white and silver colors. Not sure about yellows 😁

The more i see this car, the more i love it! the door handles and side view mirrors look more sleek.
BTW I heard they will be using the same body style across the line up for "non-Tubro" cars, so there will no longer be wider hips on the 4s/gts. is this true?

I really hate the new 718 front bumper and I was really hoping the 992 wouldn't share similar design elements. I'm still hopeful that something is missing here and this isn't the final front end. If it is... I'll be putting off my 992 purchase until the GTS comes along and hopefully offers something a little better.
