Removing OPF from EU model 4S
I have a 2020 992.1 4S with M engineering stage 1 on 93 RON (98 octane in Europe). I have no PSE as to me double pipes looks nicer. But I made a 100% valve mod with stage 1.
Since it’s EU market car it has OPF inline with cat and I wanted to remove OPF part but keeping the cat part. M engineering confirmed that they can modify map so that it doesn’t light CEL or start regeneration.
Planned to cut open cat/OPFs remove OPF part or to chisle out OPF part. On this forum found a lot of experience with removing USA type of “stones” in cat but for EU I think that part is bigger and it has two additional tubes to monitor preasure difference.
Goal is to by removing this I can hear more of engine and to let it breathe. But by keeping cat I want to avoid too much smell of gas.
P.S. I have a way to pass yearly emission control
I’m just curious as there’s a lot of pictures about removing that stone from US models and EU model is a little different plus monitored.
I understood that I should be careful as cat and OPF are very close from each other. Would be great if there is some measure how deep OPF is.
If this photo is correct then everything after these two small pipes is GPF.
I’m planning to grab some photos for others that may have same idea.

No chiseling, no emissions issue, no tune issue...easy to convert back to stock if you decide to sell.
Sounds like your mod is a "one and done" deal, with no way to reverse any of the OPF mods.

And no OPF for sure is more free than any sport OPF.
Car is staying with me forever as now it’s a weekend car and later it will be more and more modified as I’ll drive it only for track days. Would really enjoy to make as much mods on my own as possible.
But with this valve mod from M engineering I already have sound as I like and I can always put to normal when driving regular.
I believe that this OPF removal will just increase sound 10% more, hopefully little deeper on idle, more pronounce burbles and turbo sound, and decreased turbo lag for sure.
This tear is challenging but I planned to buy 992.2 Turbo for street and current 992.1 4S to mod more and more for track days but all mods that I can do on myself as finally I have my own garage.
