Default PPF on rocker panels beneath doors?

I'm thinking about PPF on my new target 4S. I'm curious if anyone knows how the PPF is done on the rock panel below the doors where the there is that bumby ripple effect paint. Are they actually able to PPF over this is it such an uneven surface?

Yes. But as seen in obsessed garage the factory paint adhesion may not be as strong in this area. Proceed with caution.

Do you mean that PPF has pulled off factory paint in this area when attempted to be changed?

I had PPF applied prior to vehicle delivery on my 2026 Targa 4S. Did hood, front bumper cover, front fenders, mirror caps, rocker panels, and extended coverage on the rear quarters. Everything came out great (including chip resistant paint on rocker panels) and I'm happy with it (as well as less "tense" when driving on the interstate regarding rock chips, etc.). After PPF I ceramic coated the entire car (both PPF and non-PPF surfaces). IF you have already applied ceramic coating that will need to be polished off prior to PPF application. Since your car has been driven prior to PPF application some paint correction will likely be needed but shouldn't be extensive as long as your wash technique has been decent. First vehicle I've ever had PPF applied to - likely will always get it on future equivalent vehicles to the Targa. I'm that happy with it.
As others have said in various posts - skills of the installer are of paramount importance to the quality of the outcome.
