It looks like I have Goodyears on my 992.1 GTS to be delivered in a few weeks, but I don't know the model. I'm coming from a GT4 with Cup 2, which were amazing on the track but not that great for normal driving, especially in colder / wet weather.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3

FYI, neither are exclusive to the GTS. It is literally luck of the draw, aka the tire lottery.

'22 GTS. It came with Goodyears from the factory and lasted me about 21k miles. Nothing to complain about really -- a good tire overall.

However, I'm now on Michelin PS4S and like them much better. It rides better, feels more grippy, quieter, and performs better in the wet.

32 front, 36 rear on both sets.

Edit: I forgot to mention I also like the look of the Michelins over GY. Looks more wide and hunkered down. Yes, dumb reason. I know.

I'd have to agree with this sentiment. PS4S first, but Goodyears a close second. For $15-30 difference PS4S FTW. Pirellis aren't even in the running.

Mine came with Goodyears but on the advice of Jerry Seinfeld, I changed to Michelin PS4S. Quieter and better performance. Jerry was right.

Thanks. Will probably run the goodyears for now and change for Michelins when it's time to change.

I had the goodyears on my 2020 992 coupe (was waiting for the targa to come out). Got the Pirellis on my 2022 992 Targa 4S, and now have the 2024 Targa 4S with Goodyears again.

My GT3T and 720 all run Michelin PS4S or Cup 2s, and I would say I do prefer Michelins overall.. However....

The Goodyears have been great, and much better than the Pirellis on the same platform. The grip is good, road feel, noise level, etc. Also the wear has been really good on the GY's.

When I need new tires on my current Targa 4S I will likely go Michelins, the GY's are very good and would not change out early.

GYs have been great on my GTS, no reason to change out early.

If no one has noticed the .2 GTS at the Spain 992.2 press event that Jörg Bergmeister was behind the wheel of on the track and with Mat Watson (CarWow) as the passenger, the car was wearing the Goodyear F1s.

The screenshot below is from CarWow’s YT video.

My 0.02, Michelin has always produced not only an outstanding summer performance tire, but they are always aesthetically pleasing as well.

I find the comments on the wet weather performance of the Goodyears to be interesting because that wasn't my experience at all. No complaints about wet weather traction even with my rears near/at the wear bars and no limited slip differential.

Have you tried to take corners in the rain? I find it to be very slippery in the canyons when it's wet out. Even Chris Harris mentioned on one episode of the Collecting Addicts podcast that he drove a 911 on the Goodyears in the wet and he ended up facing backwards and called the tires dangerous

I started losing dry grip at 5/32. ABS even triggered a couple times on quick stops in the dry. Rain traction was bad. I wouldn’t take the car out if there was heavy rain in the forecast. It was fun for a bit to drift every corner easily but then it got old.

Yeah, I've done numerous drives in the rain up in the mountains but the temps were likely around 50˚F (10˚C). Perhaps wet + cold is where they fall down or perhaps I just don't push it that hard in the wet (probably only going 5/10ths in those conditions if I'm honest).

I wonder what the tread wear specs are on the Michelins vs. Goodyear vs Perillis. Differences may account for longevity and wet traction, if any.

All three tire choices, Goodyear, Pirelli, and Michelin, are equally good (or bad) depending on your perspective.

Porsche would not choose a tire as an OEM option if was somehow subpar.

And if for some reason you get a tire that is not your preferred preference (note the word preference), then just change them when they wear out, which will generally happen in less than 10k miles (rears wear out first), esp. if you are driving the 911 like you should.

Tires are consumables, don't sweat it.

Reading the comments, I think I can agree with the GY comments. I have them on the 22 GTS. In the wet, I noticed more apt to push sooner than I would expect. I have 4S on the Cayman and those have been great. The dry performance of the GY, seems to be great though I have not had it to the track.
