I know many out there hate greys, but I love it and will spec it for my build.
I agree with you all

I think people will be blow away by how the hybrids accelerate, sound and drive. It will be a hit, im a manual only guy and not interested but im sure the PDK guys will be very happy with this car and love it more than the 992.1.

I do agree with you that once we hear it live it will give us a real feel of that sound.
No worries. Appreciate the apology. Rare these days. Especially here. 👍🏼
And for what it’s worth I hope it does end up sounding great in person.

Where are you from? Are there allocations for the GTS at your area? The AD here in France promised me an allocation end of July.

I'm east coast US. I haven't asked my dealer about allocations. I probably should, just out of curiosity, but I'll be driving my 992.1 7MT GTS for many years unless I get my hands on a GT3 Touring.

You think it sounds "Amazing"?

Do you truly feel you picked the correct word there? I would say it sounds worse than 95% off all $100,000+ sport cars on the market today.

Give me a 993 S with the motor sound airbox any day.

Are you seriously comparing V10 and V12 engines to a Flat 6 with a Turbo? The only one which is in the same ball park is the GT3RS and it is an NA engine with exhausts twice as big as the GTS. I think with that large E-Turbo is sounds great as well.
  • McLaren F1: 12 cylinders (V12 engine)
  • Lamborghini Aventador SVJ: 12 cylinders (V12 engine)
  • Audi R8/Lamborghini Huracán: 10 cylinders (V10 engine)
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS: 6 cylinders (Flat-6 engine)
  • Porsche Carrera GT: 10 cylinders (V10 engine)
  • Pagani Zonda: 12 cylinders (V12 engine)
  • Ferrari F12 Berlinetta: 12 cylinders (V12 engine)
  • Ferrari F355 GTS: 8 cylinders (V8 engine)
  • Lamborghini Murciélago: 12 cylinders (V12 engine)
Lexus LFA: 10 cylinders (V10 engine)

Looking at all those videos, and Porsche 'launch videos' - whats actually baffling for me is that the entire selling point for GTS is active aero front with those flaps.

Yet NOT A SINGLE video, including most recent ones show them operate. Every single video they are stuck in open position.

Standing still - they are open. Track driving - open.

Honestly - why?

Porsche "pipes" in sound nicely into the cabin and that's we are mostly hearing. But if you are listening to it from the outside, this is where the sound will likely be a disappointment and clearly muted. A lot has to do with emission and noise regulation. An NA 3.6L F6 with hybrid set up would have sounded better , I guess we'll never know...

Interesting that he has placed the identical voice track to all of his videos. Either that or he's reading the same script in each video. To bad he didn't just daisy chain the road videos together as one extended video, maybe even without any voice over all.
