@Flat6Motorsports John, these videos are great. Curious, did you happen to take SPL readings as you were doing these? Or otherewise, have a post where you summarize your views on how relatively loud each system is to each other (e.g., cold start, valves open, valves closed, vs each system? Have a non-PSE C4S with Cargraphics and PSE programming, but find it lacking. Hard to gauge how loud each system is on the video. The Soul Valveless in particular caugh my eye (esp with the lack of CEL) but wondering about just how loud it will be.

I can confirm that the iPE has very good divergence that Jon mentions. Can slink out of my hood easily w/ valves closed and it really comes alive when open. Lots of pops/burbles and very present sound as well as head turning volume on cold start if you want it. I'm surprised its not a more popular choice particularly given price.
I'll say again that the Flat6 series is super helpful, but one must really hear the pipes in person to get an appreciation of the differences amongst choices.

Thanks and we appreciate the feedback. We welcome others to share their experiences in this thread too! We tried to be objective and impartial as much as possible but ultimately, sound has some subjective components to it. Our goal was to really try and cover the majority of consumer questions, use cases, etc. We're in the middle of doing a series on the 718 4.0L and we've added a decibel reader while doing the dyno runs. We're also recording decibels in the cabin at a 3K RPM hold on the dyno. If there's any other feedback on our approach or ways to make a future videos more insightful, we're all ears!

I'll add this: not only were your reviews helpful, it led to a sale for Flat6 as I felt rightly compelled to reward the effort.

I have the media mod on my GoPro, but there's still plenty of crappy audio on it.
This is my '24 GTS with a APR exhaust (stock cats).

What set up are you running to get that overlay and also what's your mic set up? It looks and sounds good!

The DJI Mic is pretty plug-n-play, and wireless was an important feature for me because I'm far too lazy to run a wire along the car and tape it every time I want to record, but if that sounds like your jam there are better (read: able to handle higher volumes) mic options.

@Flat6Motorsports So money no object, which exhaust would you put on your car? Best sound, minimal drone.

Thanks! It was a bit of a project actually. I use Solostorm to tie everything together which handles the overlay and produces the nice video. For telemetry I have a RaceCapture Track mk/3 tapped into the passenger footwell CANBUS wires, and reverse engineered the data streams for it myself (thread) because no one had done so previously who was willing to share for free. Then for audio I've got a DJI Mic 2 (not to be confused with the OG DJI Mic with 2 Tx units; the older one has an even lower volume limit) suction cupped beneath the rear wing and plugged into the media mod. It's still a little too close and you can hear the audio clipping occasionally, but I haven't had the time or will to keep experimenting with placement to avoid peaking.

Your thread is super informative on the canbus hook ups, but something I'm going to skip for now, at least wait a while!
