Cargraphic Valve Control Unit
#616
Seriously considering this over the cost of the M-Tuner or a Tubi or other exhaust. Anyone who has had it a while that can share a review after having it on and using it for some time now.

IMHO the controller is an economical 'gateway' to other mods. Depending on your needs you may find it to be 'enough' on it's own, but guessing it won't be if the rowdy Tubi appeals to you. YMMV.

I see it this way: try the unit and if it's not enough you could easily sell it here and move on to a more invasive and expensive option.

This mod is a good value at $600 and easy install. But, It increases quantity of sound only….not the quality of sound. It is a good “first step” and gives you plenty of time to decide on whether you want to also improve quality of sound with a more expensive catback exhaust or not. Same with a tune. Deciding on an exhaust is not easy since you cannot listen to them all in person. If you decide on a valved catback, keep the valve controller. If you decide on a valveless catback or a tune, sell it. You may decide the controller is enough. Buying Porsche mods for $700 or less are fairly easy decisions for me……compared to the $3,000-5,000 mods.

What's cool about it is it can still be used in conjunction with other valved exhausts, so it's not immediately obsolete if you upgrade. In fact if I got an aftermarket valved exhaust I would definitely want some way to force those valves open

The two vendors are Supreme Power who did a group buy and Flat 6 Motorsports. Good install video by Flat 6 Motorsport. RL member ShrimpMoney also did an install thread with photos which is good. Do the drivers side valve first.

Except I had no qualms dropping money on the JCR exhaust but agonized for days on buying a $60 elephant grille badge.

Don’t feel bad, my head was also too big. I had my friend drive onto some boards so I could get my head under his car.

The Flat6 site and their site mention an 'automatic' mode that can be programmed but I didn't really understand what that meant or how it worked. The Flat6 video focuses on programming the Homelink.

You have to use the remote (or homelink) for Cargraphic.
I think you can program what mode it starts in, but mine is just set to start in its last setting, which works well. If I wanted it loud or quiet where I was when I turned the car off, that’s usually how I want it when I turn the car back on later.

Has anyone done this mod on a Targa. Getting under that rear hood is a pita. Not allot of room. That’s the only thing holding me back now.
