possibly, hard to know. An additional thing to consider are the fans that blow into the engine compartment (a lot of people think they exhaust, they do not) The fans are right above and blow directly onto the alternator cover, so there is some forced air cooling in that location.

Agree……alternator cover not a bad location but physics and logic dictates the farther away the box is from from the heat source (engine, coolant hoses, etc.) the less heat soak. Distance is a recognized form of shielding in physics. Instead of heat soaking a box and then using a fan to cool it down, I would rather just not heat it up as much to begin with. The Flat 6 mount puts the box high in the engine bay away from any heat source and adjacent to the oil fill tube. I note that the Cargraphic website photo for the GT3 install also has the box mounted high in the engine bay and away from the engine with a written caution to avoid heat and water (rain, wash) when choosing a location for the box.

The dealership charged an hour of labor which is fair. Prior to returning the car, the tech verified his work and tried out the valves fully open. He gave a nod of approval. I can confirm the valve controller makes a noticeable difference on cold start up and driving around. I get some slight vibrations from the exhaust now. I wouldn't it want it any louder than this. Frankly, it's a shame that having the ability to fully control and open the valves isn't standard in a car like this. Been driving it all day, no check engine light. This is a good mod!

Watched the tech do his thing, He took out the rear bumper, spoiler and tai light. It took him actually over an hour but the service advisor rounded down.

Clearly he didn't know what he was doing. Bumper? No reason to remove it! The wing comes off in 30 seconds! 2 bolts. I removed my rear wing and wired it in minutes. The worst part is removing the connectors. It was done under an hour. thanks to all the videos.

Apologies if this question has already been discussed/answered.

Question: When the unit is installed, and the Homelink system is used in place of the remote, if you leave the valves “open” when you shut off the car - will the valves still be open when you start the car the next time?

Really just wondering if the system automatically takes the valves back to the “closed” position each time you shut off the car, meaning you have to reopen them each time - or if the setting it was last on is maintained through shut down / restart.

Also, if the valves remain open, are there any issues in leaving them open, or is it a best practice to return them back to closed (or OEM) before shutting down the car?

Thinking about buying this for my incoming GTS, thanks for the assistance.

You can program the Cargraphic unit to a static position at start (such as close) or program it to remember the last position. By default it will remember the last position. No issues leaving the valves open.

For those who have purchased and installed this, any regrets? Does anyone think that this didn't make enough of a difference to justify the price and effort?
The general consensus is positive... I just want to weigh the negatives too.
Thanks all

I have this on my Cayman GTS 4.0 and it's an amazing transformation, especially combined with OAP pipes.

There should be no regrets whatsoever because it is either in a modified or stock position, in terms of the switch setting. Nice for long trips as you can put it back to stock and make the car quiet. Now, for my 911T, I have not installed it yet as I'm waiting for the car to come back from PPF shop. With that car, I suspect it won't be as great of a transformation when open because of the nature of a turbocharged motor being quieter than a naturally aspirated one. But I'm still looking forward to doing it and I think it's still the best bang for the buck you can do. And the installation is easy so really it's only a question of money.

The only negative is that you waited so long.
