LOL - true - don’t tell my wife though 😄. I’m just adding the price on top of the Bose (how it showed on my window sticker given premium package).

My wife was NOT pleased when she found out my car was 50% more than "she thought it was" when she approved.

As for the Burmeister - I have the spot a little on my passenger door. I did clean it as instructed and it is better. I don't notice it so I'm not having them fix it.

I am having them fix the rattle in my door -that comes from the rear of the door - by where my seat is. There is apparently a service bulletin for that. That is later this month.

Default The spots are not “cleanable”

So…. The spots are actually the “felt” like material that is behind the stainless steel cover coming through the holes. You can feel it like small stands if you feel with your fingertips. I started the thread and actually had both door panels replaced to solve this issue (Porsche covered this) - when they took the old ones off they confirmed this is what it is not a “mark” that can be cleaned

i have the Burmester in my cab, and the sound is great. Very happy that I got it.

Are any of you noticing these odd spots? I had a delivery from Porsche Center Vancouver from March 2021 and had this issue open since then with their service department . They just finally came back on Aug 31 indicating the factory says it is is not a defect?? It looks so bad!!

--> " Speaking with Porsche, this is not a defect of any parts in the door panel and they are saying that this is not a defect with the part but a characteristic which is more pronounced due to the finish with the burmester speaker grille.

When I first started reading this thread I was of the opinion that it was a first world problem fuss over nothing but looking at that photo, I agree, it looks terrible. It looks like someone has been sloppily eating spaghetti next to it. That would irritate me immensely.
I’d rather put up with average sound and have blemish free speakers.

Any chance you can share more info about the service bulletin for the rear of door rattle? I have it in my GTS and haven’t taken it in yet. Worried they will make things worse.

This really looks horrible - really shouldn't be like this.

As the original poster I agree this is a 1st world problem but then having spent $’000s on an upgraded system you don’t want it to look worse.

It is not a mark on the stainless steel it is actually the black fluffy material from behind coming through the holes is the grill - you can feel it and pull at it.

Porsche replaced my whole door panels which is a ridiculous waste as the way the speaker grill is attached means you cannot just pop off the stainless steel cover and fix the problem.

It looks like someone was spraying stuff onto the grille to clean it and made it worse. Another dealer service f* up by a porter or cleaner guy? Can't trust anybody anymore, FFS.

Default Speaker cover material

Does anyone know what material, (ie stainless steel, aluminum, anodized aluminum etc) is used to make Burmester speaker cover on a 2023 Porsche GTS?

have dark splotches on speaker. Want to determine what kind of cleaning product can be used instead of Porsche replacing door panel as remedy

thank you

It is not actually dark marks on the cover - I had the same issue. It is the "felt" material on the rear of the material poking through and so you cannot clean it.

I had the dealer replace the speakers (they have to actually replace the whole door card as the way the speakers are assembled is ridiculous)

I used a yellow sponge and some foam alcatera cleaner and it removed my grill spots when I had this issue. I basically put the foam on the sponge and massaged it in the grill spot holes. The foam cleaner would push down the felt and the spot went away.

I saw your post and forwarded to my SA at local dealership. Dealership says it’s not the felt material. Now wish I had been present when Porsche tech determined felt material isn’t culprit.

thank you for trying to help me

You can actually feel the strands with the back of your fingers and tug on them with tweezers if it is the material coming through.

I would be surprised if it is not this - as it seems to be fairly common with these speakers.
