^ Yeah really. We can all just own 700 hp electric hybrid 911's with huge laptops occupying the dashboard and go to sleep while the car is self-driving and having all the fun on those corners and long straightaways!

All talk. If Porsche does make a full-electric 911, once to turds stop flying from the fan, they'll realize what they've done to their halo.

There will likely be a Hybrid Turbo and Hybrid Turbo S above the current TT/TTS cars.

I would not be surprised if Porsche went the super capacitor route like the Lamborghini Sian, because it would deliver the performance without the weight of a battery.

Im going to just enjoy the 911 I have now and now worry about the "what's to come" until it actually shows itself.

definitely. I do think though they’ve already realized that a good EV 911 simply isn’t a 911 anymore. It could be a taycan coupe, but it can’t have a real engine bias. My wager is it goes hybrid for 2030 and not much sooner and then rides into the sunset.

I don’t want an all electric 911 but the idea of a hybrid might be one other 911 generation that could be worth seeing. Although I’m not interested in an all electric 911 don’t count out the new generation of female and young buyers of 911’s . The smartphone generation may embrace it so I would call out the death of the 911 yet.

The air cooled crowd were saying similar things about the start of water cooled 911’s. Porsche won’t let the brand die without a fight.

I loved my 991.2. I love my 991.2 GT3 and 992 and I'm sure the electric 911 will be sublime. I appreciate Porsche's focus on the future while straddling the past; simple as that. If you want a gas powered 911, there are several generations to pick from, just don't wait on that 993 you've been eyeing.

I want a nuclear powered 911.

Put a Hybrid 911 on the market and I'm a buyer. I have now and have had a number of these mixtures. They work and they work extremely well. Put a motor/generator where the flywheel is now, another motor where the 4S Differentials are now and run the batteries down the middle of the car where the 4S Driveshaft assembly is presently located and it'd make for a blindingly fast car. Figure ~450 lbs. for a battery the size they put in the Nissan Leaf or the BMW X5 Hybrid, but IMHO it'd be a small price to pay for the performance increase and I'd venture a guess of something around 50 miles on electric only, given that we're presently getting a bit over 30 miles electric only with our X5 Hybrid. Trust me, for a mid sized 4WD SUV; between the battery and the engine this thing hauls A$$! (0-60 is 5.2 Seconds)
