Ok, admittedly, having an iPhone 6 has grown very old....would only run IOS 12.4. Just got my new iPhone 12 and all my complaints and issues with wireless CarPlay seem to have gone away. It is quite the difference, as I'm sure many of you already know. Simple things like using your phone in the car while keeping the cars screen on music is now possible!! Also, the screen display in the car is SO much better! My advice....don't ever go six years without upgrading an iPhone as technology will leave you behind!!
Well now I’d like to know if there is a notable difference between iPhone 11 Pro Max and the 12 Pro Max, or is all the difference you seeing because it was so old before.

I just switched out my XS for a 12 Pro and didn’t notice any difference this weekend.

No difference between the 11 and 12, the difference is the new IOS.

Nothing that would have helped here, but there are still some upgrades. Notably the cameras, 5G antenna, and maybe not an upgrade per se but the magnetic charging ring which will double as holding the phone in place.

Yes but I wasn’t referring to the changes in the phone but differences in performance with CarPlay. In that respect there was no difference between the 11 and the 12.
I am not an Apple fan. Yet I have an I-Phone 8, an I-Pad, a MacBook, Apple TV and an Apple Watch. In each case compatibility drove the purchase. My only recourse is to space out the purchases of new models as much as I possibly can

Only difference I hear is better battery than iPhone X and 11 and 5G which not many can take advantage of yet. Will probably hold off for now as I have an iPhone 11 Pro...so not sure worth it.
I also own a Lamborghini....what is your point?? Yes, admittedly i should have upgraded by now. Don't judge someone based upon such little information!! The point was, in case you missed it, is that it was an apple software update that really helped and NOT something wrong with my car......which was $140k and not $200k!

I was going to hold off on upgrading from my 11 pro too but the lidar on the 12 pro should make low light autofocus improve significantly.
