I have this weird issue with the sunroof that when it’s just tilted opened, I can’t close it again. It would tilt down and close just for a moment, then immediately open back up. This happens very frequently and only solution I have is to leave it be and retry at another time.
Anyone else experience similar problem, or have any insights into possible root cause? I’ve made sure multiple times that there is nothing jamming the glass roof.
I have had the exact same issue. I accidentally left the sunroof tilted and turned off the car. Then when I go and turn on the car and try to close it, it won't close! I keeps going down and then back up to the tilted position. The only way I was able to fix it was to try again a couple hours later. I had to press the button repeatedly to get it to close!
I have been meaning to report this to my dealer. Porsche definitely needs to fix this. This seems like a software bug!
Try resetting the sun roof.. Not sure it will work on the 992, but has on previous versions..
With the key/starter on power on position (you can start the car, but really only need it on the power on position)... 1. Press open button until it stops. Release button. 2. Press the open button again until it stops a second time (it should completely retract on the second push). Release button. 3. Press open button again and hold. After approximately 10 seconds, the top will cycle through close/lift/lower/open/close. Be sure to keep the button pressed the entire time until the top closes the second time, then release the button.
This should reset the cycle and see if it closes the whole way again...

Richard, thank you very much for this tip. I too have the same problem on my 992. i tried this procedure but it didn't work.
Can you please clarify step 2 above? After completing step 1; the roof opens as far as it will go. Step 2 doesn't do anything, i.e. it doesn't make the roof open more. In normal operation is the roof supposed to open partially after pressing the open button once, and the fully after pressing it a second time?
Many thanks!

Mike, Many thanks for this! Alas i tried but it didn't work. Problem i am having is that the glass sunroof opens and closes just fine, however once the roof is tilted up, it won't tilt back down. I am certain it is some kind of a software glitch because when the car is on the freeway, it will tilt back down when i press the button. But when the car is stopped and I tilt the sunroof open, it won't close again. Again, thank you for guiding me to this online manual.

I also tried the whole reset thing today… so far so good, but I’ll give it a few goes tomorrow and see what happens.
Definitely software related, I’ll put out the feelers to a master tech I know, see what he says about it.
Great to hear you fixed yours. Which instructions did you try? The one above by Mikey?
Yes, the whole close it, 10 seconds on the close button, then make it run through full range. I’m pretty sure it won’t be fixed, but magic does happen!

Thanks! i will try again. one thing that was confusing for me, is that button C in the instructions is for the shade in a glass sunroof car. Is that what you have also? thanks again!

Yes, so I just held the sunroof open/close button instead. Gives good info in the online manual.
Thanks. i tried again. didn't work. the only way i can close it is if the vehicle is moving. if the vehicle is stationary, it will open but won't close! go figure!
