Default Initial impressions

Picked up the 992 on Wednesday. This is to replace Mercedes E63 (daily) and 2018 Boxster (weekends). Limited driving time to date and no spirited runs yet due to break in and damn Atlanta traffic. Impressions in no specific order:
-Great daily driver. Good ergonomics, visibility, and tech. Easy to drive in traffic.
-Tolerable turbo lag compared to the E63, 991tt, and new Boxster. This is based on normal driving mode in normal traffic. If power is needed for quick acceleration, it is relatively linear. In my opinion the E63 and 991tt had unacceptable turbo lag in normal driving. What I mean by this is if you are turning left with oncoming traffic and a small opening occurs the other cars may have an half a second lag before the power really kicks in. (yes I can alleviate all this by driving in Sport Plus mode, but in routine driving I keep it in normal mode).
-Adaptive cruise is acceptable. Considerably better than the others I have used (Mercedes or Alfa Romeo's systems). Still, however, not as good as Tesla.
-The nub does not bother me functionally
-Infotainment system is decent, touch screen works nicely
- Seating is not low, it is like any other 911. This is not an SUV
-Sound: it is o.k. inside the car, not sure if this is from the exhaust or is piped in. Outside it is just o.k. (I do not have PSE). Personally this is an iconic sports car and people should only see and hear you go by them. (I miss my R8 V10, but not my neighbor). I am awaiting for the aftermarket boys to give me a nice valved exhaust system.
-Tail does slide out slightly on heavy acceleration. My recent cars have all been 4 wheel drive cars, so I guess I'll have to get re-acclimated to 2 wheel drive. Not a bad thing since I've been going to the Porsche Experience Center down the street from me to learn how to drift. Standard 2 wheel drive 911 is one of the easier cars to drift vs the turbo or boxster.
-Looks: Evolutionary changes. Back end looks good

Overall, happy with purchase so far. Getting laser shifters installed today. Tint/PPF next week.

I agree with your points.

I agree with your point about ‘lag’ although I don’t think it’s really lag you’re experiencing but that the engine isn’t spinning fast enough to produce its boost. In the 991 TT it needed more or less 3000rpm to get boost whereas the 992 seems to need only 2000rpm or so.

The 992 seems to develop power more smoothly from idle upwards and comes on boost earlier and more progressively.

I will post pictures once I finished the mods are completed, otherwise it currently is a stock car no different than the ones on the porsche website. I have Facebook, but haven't logged in since the past 3 years. I guess I'll figure out my password, would love to connect with you guys.
