The 991.2S and I suspect the 992S are just tremendous all around cars. If I could only have one car I think it's what I would buy. Such a fun (and livable) DD. I miss my 991.2S from time to time and I expect a 992S is just more/better.

The sound of the Lotus caused the reviewer to crack a smile at 3:17. The 911, which he called sonically serene, did not. While the Porsche would be the overall wiser choice, if I could take one on mountain roads for the afternoon I'd grab the Lotus keys.

I get why he did this comparison, but how many, really, in the market for a 992 would even look at the Evora? A buyer of a 992 looks for the overall, liveable multi-talented everyday sportscar that does many different things really well, with great quality etc. A Cayman GTS is a better comparison to an Evora GT410, I would guess Caymans and Evoras are bought more for pure driving-thrill reasons, rather than daily drivers. Not saying the Evora isnt great fun, just that I believe very few would ever decide between the two

Henry has reviewed the 992 three times before (admittedly once in a studio re design). He has cracked a big smile on the 992 sound before.

But you bring up a good point - by itself I am sure the 992 sounds pretty good or even great, but in direct comparison to another car like this Evora or recent Aston Martin Vantage review it may not be as exciting (only talking about sound here) especially from the outside of the car.

Any generation of the 911 has never sounded that great, especially next to an Aston or really even on its own unless we’re talking about a GT car.
