Default Glass sunroof?

Did you order a glass sunroof? Why or why not? This is a DD, not a track car, so I don't care about the weight (or would notice).

I have a 2018 991.2 with a glass sunroof. I ordered it because I like the open feel of driving. I like light in the cabin. I think it looks cool. It's an extra button too.

I’m mostly concerned about it letting in too much light on sunny days driving. Does it darken?

My will be a DD, too and I did order the glass sunroof. From the outside, I like the dark roof against my exterior color. From the inside, the glass allows for natural light to brighten up the interior. One disappointment with Porsche is that their glass sunroofs have electric sun shades. My current AMG roof has photochromatic glass that lightens and darkens with the push of a button.

I ordered the electric non glass sunroof because I think it looks better with GT Silver.

I ordered a glass roof because I’ve NEVER owned a car without a glass roof. I would no doubt miss have an opening had I not ordered one.

Yep, you always need to order stuff that has an extra button. No blanking plates is the goal. Lol.

It has a material cover on the inside that you can electrically extend if you're parking on a sunny day to keep the interior nice and cool.

It's a must.

This topic has been beaten to death on Reenlist. Don't have a sun roof and hope to never see one again.

I don’t have one on my 2017 C2S and won’t have one on my 992. I prefer a body matching top with no rattles or wind noise. I also dislike the noise when opened at guest speed. Much prefer AC and my Radio.

GT Silver and glass looks good every angle except the front view where it just doesn't work for me so I choose metal. Every color and combination is different.
Good or bad weather I totally enjoy opening everything and turning on the a/c or heat and the music. Best mornings or evenings.

My car is white, so I ordered the glass sunroof because the black breaks the monotony of the white body, and if your concern is the sun, I live in the UAE where it's very, very sunny. There's an electrically extendable mesh that can block the sun very efficiently. It was my concern as well, and I took a ride in a friend's car and was immediately convinced. On less sunny days I retract the mesh and the cabin feels roomier.

Not a must have but like it to bring light and if needed air into the cabin and I do like it makes the entire roof glass black.

There is the sun shade, but you can also tint the glass and since it has no effect on driving safety you can tint it as dark as you like.
