For me, as I mentioned in another post, there are too many cosmetic changes with the 992 that left me scratching my head as to why Porsche decided to go in that direction. I don't completely dislike the 992. However, I do prefer the look inside and out of the 991.2 and so this past January I placed an order for a 2019 991.2 for May delivery. As I think about the question, the most upsetting thing for me is that I waited over a year anticipating the release of the 992. I really really wanted to like it and was fairly certain that I would buy that new model. Why wouldn't I want a brand new model with the latest design, tech and performance. Needless to say, I was disappointed when it was finally unveiled in November.

well, the wider front track and wheel arches are nice and invoke memories of the 993 or 964 wide body

Agreed. I like those aspects of the 992. The rear and interior not so much per response to OP.

On topic now, yes there is resistance to change, but yes the 992 is uglier, so deal with it
I thought I'd chime in here, since I've posted more than a handful times and I'm definitely not new to the brand, having owned one 944 and eight 911s since 1985. I happen to like everything about the 992 but the piano black on the console. I think the front, rear and interior are very nice looking and am looking forward to ordering a 992 as soon as the manuals are introduced. Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder.

By the way, have you seen a pic of Sebvelez's white 1987 Targa? It was purchased brand new by his dad and is still in the family. It's fabulous!

These are also the qualities that I find so attractive. Its is somehow retro and very modern at the same time.

Ouch! Yes, despite my Hollywood star looks, there must definitely be a lot of ugliness in my eye when I look at that rear design.

As your message proves, there are people (a lot or outliers?) that "like the design of the rear" and that "love the 992 despite having more than 50 messages" .

And yes, I have to admit that the "relative abundance" of new forum members that registered to rennlist and started to praise the 992 after a few weeks/months of hard bashing by older members seemed interesting but, as I have been explained, some of them seem to have a good alib... a lot of history with the brand.

Back to the "the poor man 992" forum, ...

sorry i dont care for any of the previous generations. they all look ridiculously small to me.
agree 100%. There are a few allocations left but you need to call around. I bought a second 991.2 when the 992 was introduced.

I refer to it as 992 Derangement Syndrome. Read a few threads and it's easy to see who's afflicted.
