Carmine Red or Carrara White
Hi All
My first post on the forum. Over years I've owned two Caymans and four 911's, but have never had to spec one out for an order. I've found it much easier to browse a selection of cars and pick one out I like. So, I have an allocation for an April build of the 992 and am having trouble selecting a color based on the configurator, without actually seeing one in person. I'm torn between Carmine Red with black/mojave beige or Carrara White with black/bordeaux red. I've never had either color so any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Color choice on the 992 is very difficult having not seen the car in person. My order for the 992 Carrera 4S is to be locked in in 3 weeks. I have decided on the options but am still struggling with color. First I started with Gentien blue and Carmine Red. Then I decided against the blue and thought of Carmine Red and Black. Then I decided against Black (as Ive owned many black cars over the years and keeping them clean is a full time job). Then I narrowed it down to Carmine Red and GT Silver. My GT3 was GT Silver and I loved the color. I have now ruled out Carmine Red (as my 458 was Rosso Corsa and IMHO red is reserved in my heart for Ferraris). I have now decided on silver on chalk/slate grey (I want the cars theme to be dominantly light and silvery, I also like light color interiors in small sports cars). I am off to the dealership to look at GT Silver v Dolomite Silver today or tomorrow.
I love the Carmine Red/Beige (especially the light interior)...but I find it offensive to pay extra for Carmine (considering the price increase of the car already), Carrera white you can't go wrong...its a classic. Between your two choices I would go with the Carrera White.

I used to own a CR GT4. It's a beautiful color. One of my favorite reds.
It's a true blood red, compared to the more orange tone Guards red.
Not my pic, but the carmine red here is accurate. It's a very special color.

Definitely carmine, so much more depth and shine than white. White just doesnt do it for me.

Carmine. No questions asked.
Theres a 991.1 Carmine red around town that always snags my eye when I see it. For some reason I cant explain, it's just looks much more exotic compared to other 911's

Having owned both, I have to say Carrara White Metallic is such an underrated color. Unless you see it in person, you really have no idea because internet photos almost never capture it. Nothing against carmine, i really like it. But just saying, CWM is maybe the best white Porsche's ever offered.

There is a great photo of a White (probably not Carrara White, but not sure) 992 coupe on page 52 of the February 2019 PCA Panorama magazine. This particular car has the black wheels and a steel sunroof. Simple, clean and stunning, even with the standard front fascia. I hope aab will let us know what he thinks of Dolomite silver.

White.
White is faster.
Carmine looks like a tomato.

having seen, driven and tested the new 992, I really like it in Silver, Blue, Black, White and Carmine Red. I am not a big fan of the Yellow color on this body style. We have ordered Carmine red on a few 911's and 718's and I LOVE the color, it sells really well.

Have you managed to get a good look at the new Aventurine green as i really want a green 911.? The first 911 i ever sat in was a metallic green way back in 1979..I don't want to choose a color purely because of nostalgia and end up hating it..
