Contrary to opinions, ppl are not lining up to buy 992.

Huge disappointment on many fronts. "Shaver" **** is reason enough and it will be replaced 2nd or 3rd year for sure.
Ridiculous. I have purchased 1st year models new for just about every 911. They have all been great cars. Porsche knows what their doing. The only miserable fail IMO for a high production 911 was the dreadful M96s that were having RMS leaks right out of the box in the early 2000s. That was not limited to first year . . .

The wheels are the standard "Turbo S" wheels that come with the 991.2 GTS models, so I didn't change them. I believe it's a satin black. As far as the color goes, I love it. The only very slight negative is that it's a little subtle, which I don't mind, but isn't as noticable as some other colors might be. I think it also depends on the contrast. I chose some options to specifically create black contrasts against the chalk. If it was one big gray blob it might not work that well. On the positive side, people do comment on how much they like the color, which you probably don't get as much with standard black/white/red.

In another three years (MY 2024 should be a 2.2 edition)?

The best looking 911 currently, until new GTS or Turbo are released, imho.

yep, you did the right thing

Not buying one. I was ready to buy a 992 when I sold my 2013 C2S. Just too many negatives right now. I'm sure performance will be an upgrade. I'll enjoy my newly acquired 2015 GT3 in the meantime.

They will roll out options pretty quick. My money would be they will announce a manual in six months or less. Maybe even four months.

Following the launch I attended last night, I did some reading in some of the docs I've managed to acquire over the last several weeks... one of the documents I have (marked INTERNAL in bold red) clearly has a sentence referencing the Manual Transmission and its expected availability in early 2020 (much longer than I thought).
