Default 992 Targa

ANYbody heard ANYthing about a 992 Targa? Haven't seen any spy shots of one. The rear bump/bulge on the 992 Cabrio may not lend itself to a Targa. Or will my 991.2 Targa 4S be the end of the line?

I'd put my money on an upcoming 992 Targa if I was a betting man.

The 992 presentation linked in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1118...id-to-ask.html does mention a Targa. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it looks as a 992.

Yeah I've heard somebody from Porsche mention it in one of the videos as well so confident its coming....
I just wish they could show it sooner than later because if 992 targa is as good as 991.2 Targa I'd probably hold off on anythign else until its here

They will make it since more than not think it is the best looking 911 made today, and I am not saying that because I own one. Some complain about the weight but that the looks make up for it. It is like a Coupe with the top up and a Cab when it is down and the rear visibility is outstanding. I think it will look better than the Cab just as it is with the 991.2 due to the rear glass. But I still like the way the 991.2 looks thus the reason for buying what I did recently albeit it will be my favorite 992.

P.s. I for one would welcome the re-introduction of the hatchback style type Targa. But I'm also sensing that nearly no one will agree with me on that.

The diagram is not correct or not thorough though, for instance the S models are missing. And not being thorough is very un-German.

That hatch does have its uses but to me that shouldn't be called a Targa (and definitely not replace the original/current design).

That diagram appears to list models and then body styles. A hybrid version wouldn't be another body style, just a version of the existing ones. The top left cloud are potential models sharing the same platform (some time ago it was rumoured the next 911, R8 and Huracan replacement would share the same modular platform). Which other body styles they could introduce for the 911 and 718 I don't know.

Targa's are gorgeous. I've always wondered why they only offer them in AWD though, you'd think you could save some weight by sticking with RWD. Also they keep their value extremely well apparently, I think I could just afford a CPO 991.1 Targa at best, pretty past my price range when new or very close to new.

So is this confirmation that we are now mid-engined.
