For those that find the 992 hideous...

I did not care for the *** on the 991 Cab either, which is why I got a Targa and it has much better visibility out of the rear window.

see that’s the problem... it was already borderline styling wise so even slightly worse hurts... I also think it’s not just the height of the bump... look how the 992 rounds off steeper and drops straighter down. It’s just slightly more awkward than an already (necessarily) akward design.

Either way, the 991 cab flows better and is more sleek than the 992.. The 992 looks like it gained a few pounds and it all went to that bloaty over hanging butt.

Yeah, but how often would you see your car that way?!

From side view, the 992 looks better. The 997 still looks better than either car. A 991 looks awkward and bloated when side by side to a 997 in real life.
I still think we all should reserve judgment on the 992 until we see it in the flesh. I dunno, I am just a Porsche guy through and through and have been since I started driving and racing them in the 80s. Seems like a lot of the negativity comes from newer guys that perhaps does not truly appreciate the heritage of the 911 and what the 911 is all about. Candidly, the 911 has always been an awkward looking acr.
All of this bashing nonsense, especially from new guys whose first 911 was a 991.X, is a little bit bizarre to me. I hope they sell well and the 911 remains in production for many years to come.

My first 911 was an '87 930 and I now have a 991.2, which I think is beautiful in its Targa form. I cannot see how anyone would think a 997 looks better, and the 992 will be uglier in person when I see one up close; "a picture is worth a thousand words."
