992 GT3 deposit
Hi,
I bought a used 991.1 GT3 and just traded it in for a used 991.2 GT3 at the same dealer. It's a small dealership in Canada.
I asked about a deposit on a new 992 GT3 (2020/2021?) and they said they already have "many", but are taking $5000 deposits with no confirmation of an allocation. I asked but they haven't told me yet where I would be on the list or if they even do a list.
What is the going rate for 992 deposits? I only put down $2500 to get an Ferrari 488 allocation and the dealer here got me an early allocation so $5000 seems high given they may not be able to get me one.
Thanks

LOL. I can't wait until rates go up further and this car bubble bursts. Dealers will be asking us to buy cars again instead of us begging them to put down deposits.

Find a different dealership. Or find a better salesperson in that same dealership that is human.
I've heard anywhere from $500 - $5,000 and you are given the exact number you are on the list. Does not matter how long the list is.
Lastly, it should be a 100% refundable deposit, in case you change your mind.

In Canada, doesn't seem to be any lists. They sell them to whoever they want to, which would usually be longstanding or VIP clients.

The key is small dealer and many deposits. They probably won’t get many allocations. Just wait and by a used one.

Same, for my 991.2 GT3, my dealership took $1000 initially, told me my spot in line, and later asked for $5000 more once they got my allocation. All of the money went toward the price of the car (which was @ MSRP).
