Seems to me like that center display should be doing ‘something useful’ when you’re on the track.

Are you guys deaf or retarded? I know this place is the over the hill club but the 992 sound exactly like a 991.2
All 991's, .1 and .2 have sound symposers. So will the 992. There are tubes that are attached to the intake and directed into the cabin to bring in engine noise. They're real sounds. Not electronically pumped through the speakers like BMW.
Guys, stop being stupid.

What is crazy is all the criticism on audio that is going to sound different on everyone's computer.
Just how many of you are listening to this with a studio sound system? And we clearly don't know the details of how it was recorded.
It's too subjective. We won't know how it sounds until we drive it.

This sounds just like my 991.2. I don't think they did anything with the PSE sound on the 992.
Inside the car it sounds very good. No fake sounds but definitely the two symposers are doing their intended function. Outside of the car, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
Before I ordered my .2, I went to PEC-ATL to listen to them on the track and drive them. They were still tracking the GT4/Spyder and 991.1GTS at the same time as the new .2s. As on observer, the sound difference was astonishing. The NA cars just sounded awesome next to the vacuum cleaners. I still bought my .2. It sounded really good on the track from inside the car.
At the end of the day, I wasn't buying the car for the guy on the street listening to my exhaust.....I bought it for the guy in the drivers seat.
