For those of you with a 991 (or other Porsche) with the full leather interior - how durable is it? I think it looks great and adds a nice touch to the interior. I'm just concerned with durability as I would hate myself if I scratched the leather on accident, but the standard soft plastic material on the doors and dash wouldn't have scratched.

I'm considering the full leather for my build of the 992 and have never owned a car with a full leather interior. All of the Audi and BMWs I've owned had the standard door/dash soft plastic material trimmings.

Any thoughts or comparisons between leather vs. standard soft plastic would be greatly appreciated.

I think full leather interiors (especially on BMWs) are always the right choice. For the 992 I don't believe any current interior option adds any additional leather. I believe the upcharge for "club leather" which is the most expensive just gets you a higher quality/different color leather in all of the same spots but I could be wrong.

I love my full leather. Would only consider it going forward.

My 997 turbo was full natural leather. Everything was covered in leather including the rear view mirror and vents, a pillars, door sills, seat backs etc etc.
It was awesome, it just made the car feel so high quality and special.

Full leader is definitely the way to go... but it limits your options if searching for used cars... you shouldn't care if ordering new...

My 991 has it with contrast stitching, so much nicer than my previous Cayman that didn't. My car is 6 years old with no signs of wear on the leather bits.

My 2012.5 991C2S has full leather including seat backs (not steering column, console surround or vents). I and friends with the standard high quality plastics Porsche use find it has a slightly warmer, more "finished" sort of feel. The leather is the standard smooth finish black with black stitching, more subtle than deviated colors but still kind of distinctive.

It shows no signs of wear after 6.5 years, and is very easy to keep clean. The key is NOT to abuse it with what gets placed on it and NOT to rub it raw with someone's favorite parts store miracle cleaner and conditioner.

I've had the full leather option in my last 3 Porsches. I wouldn't buy one without it!

Strongly support full leather. I've had two with it and two without. The full leather looks much better over time than the non-full leather IMO.

How so? I went and looked at the interiors in person in LA. The only things that change leather wise are if you get the fabric inserts on the seats or there is the package that replaces the trim inserts with leather. But as far as I can tell there isn't a 992 available right now without the leather dash and door cards that used to constitute the difference between full and non-full leather interiors.

If you go to Porsche's website configurator, selecting 'leather interior' over 'standard interior' clearly gets you leather upper and lower dash, door panels, and rear panels like on the 991, and looks like the airbag cover as well.
