Which black wheels to go with my 992?

Exterior: Gentian Blue Metallic
Wheels: Carrera S Wheels

There are 3 different black painted wheels in the configurator:
  • Satin Black
  • High Gloss Black
  • Jet Black Metallic
Not sure which one I should go with. I can sort of imagine the look of Satin black and High Gloss black because there're photos of those on 991 models.
But I have no ideas about Jet Black Metallic. Is it shiny? Matt?

Any recommendation?

Thanks!!

I'm not a black wheel lover, but if I was I'd go with satin.

I am black wheel lover and would recommend Satin rather than gloss (?clear coat can be scratched) but avoid the metallic black as a respray will be simpler in the event of a scuff!
I'm a fan of red too:

Nice to see that the colours in and out are better represented in the 2D configuration rather than 3D

HRE P101 Satin FTW! Be different.
I have Satin on 911 and gloss on SQ5.....Don't go gloss. It scratches and shows brake dust instantly.

Here's a set of P101's and below that a set of 540's to give you some inspiration :)

Do you have 992 with R101 pic?

Not in black but yes I do. Here's R101 Lightweight in Brushed Titanium - which we'll certainly be able to make once we gain access to the car and verify what fitment this new car takes, how large the brakes are, etc...

Satin Black FTW!

I love black wheels. Any will look good. Satin is easiest to take care of and repair. Gloss pops more and therefore calls more attention to the wheels, if that's what you want. Gentian Blue is not an extroverted blue so gloss would stand out more in contrast.

"None"? Remember when your mother said that if you didn't have anything good to say don't say anything? It must have to do with increasing their # of posts because do you think your comment will deter the OP from getting Black wheels?

Anyway, I have Satin wheels on my Targa GTS and I had Gloss on my C7 and the latter showed much more dust and scratches over time, but I had my Satins ceramic coated so that would probably help the Gloss as well. And if you use a slightly shinier tire dressing they will look even better.

Agree...

I have gloss black wheels for the first time and they keep me damned busy cleaning them, more so than on any of my silver wheels on prior 911s. I'm pretty certain I won't do them again unless some future quality pad material eliminates dust.
