IMO the only 911 worth buying new is a GT car.
The Carrera’s are mass produced and it’s relatively easy to find the spec you would have built (unless it’s something odd) in a CPO car.
Everyone that must have a 992 now is going to take a bath on these in 12-18 months. Of course it’s all relative and if money isn’t a concern, then I say go for it. But if you are even thinking for a second this is too much... then I advise that you have some patience and grab a CPO 991 for now. There will be plenty of CPO 992’s for sale in a year.

i have a 2019 991.2 Carrera T and I am excited to see the 992 T arrive in 2020. My build was 125 with 5% discount so to own for a few years lose 30-40k is just part of the deal you know. New is always good

Not to all of us. My 991.2 has more than I will ever need and I love the look, which is actually the reason I bought it over the 992. I know they cannot have the same looking car forever but if you look back at previous versions I think everyone will admit that some were not that great looking compared to others, and is that not why we buy cars to begin with?

And to your first point Personally I don’t plan to ever purchase a new 911 variant again that isn’t a GT car.

And don't forget that it'll be at least six months before all the options are loaded. Right now, I'm at $150k for a C2S. That will mean over $160k for the Cab, which is what I'm waiting for, and knocking on $170k with some of added options that we haven't seen yet. Probably too rich for my blood. So as others have said, a low mileage used car in a few years may be the way to go.

the 991 (and presumably 992), feel much smaller and more nimble when equipped with RAS. Famously Porsche wanted to leave RAS off the 911R because that car was all about being lightweight, but ultimately RAS was included because it handles so much better with it and feels like a smaller car.

I love RAS and just yesterday I told myself I was glad I had opted for it when I ordered. Would I have missed it if I did have get it? Maybe, but I can tell it is there as I drove one without it before I drove one with it and I could tell it the difference. And I passed on the PDCC since I do not mind a little roll in the corners, which is part of the experience just like manually shifting.

PDCC was something my folks had on their Cayenne GTS, and I have BMW's version on my x5m. I agree with you, I think the car would feel artificial, as it does with the suv's, the handling would be flat, but you will lose another aspect of the chassis communicating with the driver.

I would spec RAS and PDCC (and probably PCCB) on a 992 GTS or Turbo if I ever get the chance. IMO the RAS and PDCC are must haves and I love both features on my Turbo. They both enhance the nimble feeling of the car.

With the increased base prices on the 992 and pending economic slowdown, I predict some very nice deals to be had in 12-18 months on CPO 992 cars. But I have the luxury of making such predictions because I'm not in the market for a 992 at the moment. When the 992 GT3 is announced, I will likely pay way more than I should to snag one
