If you were going to buy one of these just get a manual transmission. A lot more fun and you don't have the worry about the electric shaver shifter.

I guess that's possible, since the 992 looks like a 2dr Panamera. What I noticed was the big mouth grille and the hood recess.

Thanks for posting the pics TJ911. I agree and will skip this gen. although at a risk of having no nonelectric choices later on

Someone should start a list of gripes - in addition to the 5 mentioned by the OP...
6. Uninspired front bumper cover, front view now looks like a VW beetle
7. flush door handles
8. fake exhaust
9. disjointed dash treatment, looks like an 80's oldsmobile
10. huge negative space between the new IP cluster and nav screen, just looks unfinished
11. center console is a mess
12. behind the nubbin, the vertical recessed "nubin juniors" just create a dust trap

Couldn't put my finger on it on why I did not like the dash, but your # 9 and 11 nailed it and the rotary drive mode not lighting up or the big not subtle lettering on it......GM inspired......boy they really missed it.....tried too hard........

let's add that one
13. rotary drive mode - missed opportunity to put drive mode selection back on the (massive) center console
plus...
14. the HVAC vents behind the nubbin appear too small, cheap and an afterthought...placement is wrong

That console is going to go down in history next to the fried-egg headlights. It's a classic "HR failure," meaning HR f***ed up by hiring whoever designed it.

It'll be easy for them to overhaul it for 992.2, though. That will be the model to watch and wait for. All of the elements are in place to build a great 911, they just aren't all ready for prime time.

just there this morning for the PCA event and totally uninspiring car. as my 20 year old son put it, a old man GT car. The 911 is no longer a sports car in my eyes due to all the things listed above especially the dash design and that nub is beyond bad.

And one more thing, the only visible difference between 2S and 4S besides the rear model designation is the bars on the engine lid are either silver or black....thats it

Difference between 2s and 4s is the driveline and really that is fine....nothing else required to be different....

If the key is gone, do we start it from some menu option now?
Or is the push-to-pass button now start?
